I'm worried for the dog! Is there anything I can do to stop this?
Okay I'm so fed up with certain members in my family its not funny. Here I am trying to educate my teen cousin because of all the things his mom is teaching him and I have another cousin (well step cousin) who is looking to do the same crap.....(these cousins are not siblings one is my uncles stepdaughter and the other is my other uncles son)
My cousin had a cocker spaniel for 6 months, she shaved it down because the kids were allergic, and when she got married she got rid of the dog because her new husband didn't like the dog.
Now my grandmother tells me my cousin wants my advice on what kind of dog to get.
I'm like Oh?
And asked what the dog is for, how the dog would be living inside, and so forth.
She said my cousin is looking for a watchdog, and it would be chained outside. And she was thinking Boxer or Pit Bull. (her husband travels a lot)
(she would also be away from home everyweekend out of town so I'm not sure what she plans to do with this dog when she is gone)
Anyways I told my grandmother to tell her, to get a Security Alarm and a Gun, it would be a lot cheaper and kinder in the long run.
(I'm not going to suggest anything because I will have no part in her ruining another dog, the cocker was very ill behaved after about 3 months with them)
Pit bulls and boxers i've noticed don't do well outside in the heat and cold (and lets face it no dog should be chained)
My biggest issue is with the chaining and I don't know if its illegal where she lives but I believe if I read it right its illegal in my county (and I think she lives in my county, she might actually be over the state line)
Anyways is there anything I can do to prevent her from doing this. I know her history with dogs and I can't stand to see her add more issues for the Pit bulls or even the boxers.
I don't want to see her ruin a dog. Is there anything I can do? (obviously I can't stop her from getting the dog)
