when I got home (finally!) and sam was itching her butt on the ground and licking it alot. Her anal sacs pop alot, but I'm starting to worry that it might be worms or something...but when I told my mom I was worried and we need to go to the vets she completely blew me off! not just that but our dogs need to get there vaccinations! and she pretty much just says yea, but then does nothing about it! I even called the vet, and she still wont go! She also blew me off when I asked about buying healthy dog food... I told her that I knew some good brands and then she said that all brands are the same! I said no, I know ppl that know the nutritious(sp?) needs of dogs...and again she said yea...but wasn't really listening...grrrr...what should I do to convinse her to take her to the vet? also any clue what's wrong with sammy?

(sorry for all the spelling errors....I really suck at spelling!)

that's a tough situation :S i'm sorry for you that your mom doesn't take taking care of a dog a bit more serious... I can only imagine how hard that must be for you to deal with.

I can't tell you if it would be worms but I definately agree with your idea that taking her to the vet would be a good idea. Testing for worms is always a good idea! Penny had diarhea (sp?) for three days and even tho she's on stuff so she can't get worms I still took her and got her tested to make sure! When it first starts out it's minor but they can become a serious problem if you let it go too long!

Maybe try to find some internet sites with all the symptoms of worms and all the problems they can cause for the dog, print it off and show it to your mom?

as for the food.... if she won't listen maybe try to find the best you can get for what your mom is willing to spend?

I hope that she will listen to you, you are obviously a lot more responsible about being a dog owner than she is!!

it's not that money is the problem, she just thinks there all the same....but I've desided I'm just going to buy the food myself with my allowance...
