Ok, I'm not sure what happened. The dogs are NOT at the shelter. I know they where picked up by the animal control, so they would've been taken to the shelter, but when I got there they where gone. So I'm HOPING the owners picked them up! I'm not positive though.

Oh no.:yikes: Can you check with those people that you thought were the owners? Did you ask the shelter about the dogs, if they had them or not. OMG, I hope they didn't euth them. I hope this is gonna have a happy ending.

I looked through the entire shelter, I didn't see them.

I haven't checked back with the people I thought where owners, I haven't really gotten the chance yet.

I really doubt they euthanized them yet. I'll check with the people tomorrow morning.

I just saw this, BB, I am speechless. Just.. wow. How terrible.

I have to ask, though, did the ACO have the legal right to take the dogs from you.....?

Well, the dogs aren't mine, I have no proof they where mine and I couldn't say they where as they where reported to the cops as loose dogs and I'd previously said they weren't mine. Plus they saw me leash them so obviously they where the dogs reported, plus the two ladies that called it in where right there. So yes, I do believe that it was legal. :(

How many days has it been? At the shelter I volunteered for, dogs who were brought in as strays by AC were kept seperate from the adoptable dogs for the period where they have to legally hold them to see if the owner turns up. If you went in to the shelter, you wouldn't see them until that period of time was up, the dog was temperament tested, vetted and THEN placed on the adoption floor. So the dogs might have been there, just in an area not open to the public.

That's is just a bummer Baby. My Laura has Squirt who is a pitbull/boxer mix, and I guess people think she looks scary because if we go to the petstore for socializing like we do Baby, people stay away from her and go to Baby. funny thing about htat is that Squirt is a love bug, and Baby is the one who will shy away.

It wasn't the peoples dogs I thought it was. :( There was another thing I thought of, a while ago I saw a sign for "Pit Bull puppies for sale" next to a house. I'd never seen their Pit Bull so I guess they could be there's. :(

They may be able to if those two evil old ladies were still saying they were "Monsters!"... But I don't know... THis is a sad situation.
Is it legal to PTS a dog without giving a certain number of days for the owner to find them?
They would've given the dog at the very least three days. Only times I've seen them break this rule was when dogs came in who had severly injured someone or was dangerous to have around.

Someone had to come and get these dogs, they wouldn't of been PTS on those ladies words without evidence. :) So I know someone took them, I just don't know who!

I volunteer at this shelter, it's 3 business day holding period. All the dogs are on view, even ones just brought in, unlesss they are being quarantined. But I looked in that area as well, they are not there.
