I Walk My Dog On the Right

I have both! LOL OC is trained to walk on my left side and Ronan is trained to walk on my right so when I have both I have a dog in each hand. Makes controling them much easier than having both in one hand. Ronan will flip to either side without any issues. If I walk OC on the right he tends to pull a bit though and doesn't quite grasp the concept to stay back at my side. That's not him though, that's me not bothering to take the time to solidify that part in his training

I seriously hope we never have rules for WALKING on the sidewalk like we do for driving a car on the road.

Spend a day in New York City and then say that with a straight face.

To the OP: I think your best bet would be walking your dog on both sides when you have the opportunity and maybe teaching a command for switching sides. That way you'll both feel comfortable either way and whatever you need to pass will be less of a hassle, be it an unfriendly strange dog or a human you want a furry barrier from.
