Does anyone plan to make resolutions for the new year? Let's hear 'em!

I don't have anything super fun. I joined Crossfit for 12 months so I guess I resolve to compete in a competition in 2015. I have two half-marathons and I resolve to be under 1:50 for Feb& hopefully under 1:40 for May. Also I resolve to eat less popcorn and maybe consider paleo (must drink the CF koolaid..).

Squirreling away money into savings. Bare minimum is $3000, but I'm shooting for $5000.

More date nights. We used to go out 1-2x/week, now we've been going out like 1x/month, if that. We can afford it, we both love to them, what the heck.

Spending more time with my dogs, and more time training them. Going to DO SOME TRIALING THIS YEAR, YEAH!

I'm joining a gym next week. :p

Pay off the rest of my debt from moving.

Take a good chunk out of what I owe for my car.

GROWN UP STUFF.

Oh, and practice shooting more. I haven't gone at all this year.

ETA! Switching Bloo and Em over to at least 90% raw.

- Lose weight.

- Be more active and do more things.

1. Save all the monies.
With Michael being deployed and with the only expenses coming from my end, now will be the PERFECT time to save. Our car insurance and phone bill is going to be less, our grocery bill will probably be cut in half if not more, and the money spent on fast food/eating out will probably be cut by 90%. My goal is to put at least one of my paychecks into savings every month, although I'm hoping all of my income can go directly to savings and that I'll be able to live off of Michael's income alone.

Then we can either keep it as savings, or just throw it at paying off the car. *shrugs* Whatever works, I guess. Depends on how much I'm actually able to squirrel away!

2. Actually start going to the gym.
While I'm not holding out for any drastic weight loss (I need to loose 10-15 pounds to be slim), I reallyreallyreally need to get in shape. Again, with DH being gone, now is the perfect time to diet (aka, cut out snacky things that he likes to eat all of the time) and hit the gym three times a week.

3. Work with Abrams.
I'm going to have a lot of free time on my hands, so I plan to start doing much more training with Abrams. Tricks and foundations around the house, yes, but I really need to work on some of his very bad habits while in public (like barking at everything while in a parked car). We need to reestablish our working relationship and get back to basics.

4. Make the house look like a home, not a poor college student living space.
I see most people's houses and am jealous at their nack for interior decoration. I do not have that skill. Most of our furniture is old and doesn't match anything. We utilize certain things for purposes they are not meant to be used for. I have no decor anywhere (unless dog hair is decor). It actually really bothers me that the house looks so bad. I'm hoping to illicit help from my mom and sister to help me pick up odds and ends to make the house look more like a home, not just a place we've put all of our random crap.

Haha yes, exactly this! I want a house with real decorations and stuff. It'll take a while but I'd like to have a house that looks homey.

Reach my goal weight (I've been 3 pounds away for months)
Be better about staying on top of the kids's messes (yeah, like that's gonna happen)
No more clothes buying for a while (no more excuses to do so)
Try to remember to bring my reusable shopping bags to the grocery store

I don't really have more.

Lose Weight! Seriously. I need to lose at least 10 lbs.

Eat Healthier! I eat a ton junk food. I'm so unhealthy.

Exercise! This is a huge one for me. I really need to step it up,& actual do it. Just really trying to find the motivation to do so, which is biggest struggle right now.

Get more motivated! On so many different areas. School. Exercising. Losing weight. I just seriously lack motivation. I literally have none. So, it's something I really need to work on.

And... Probably the biggest one, tell someone about what I'm struggling with. So, I can actually get a diagnoses,& start treatment/therapy.

I need to:
  • Lose some weight
  • Save a lot of money from university (One of my wage packets from 1 job is going straight to my mum so that I can't spend it.)
  • Start exercising more and spend more time outdoors
  • Start really knuckling under and getting all my work for college done and really making sure it's my best work
  • Start taking care of myself more and stop working ridiculous hours at work, as well as college. It's not fair to me and it's not fair to my dogs.

I think that's everything. I really want to go to university this year so a lot of these are geared towards that but I think it'll be good for me in general. A lot of them tie into one another so I'm hoping that will make it easier. Less money from saving more and working less, means I can't go out and party so much or buy so much junk food. Which hopefully means more time to exercise and get my assignments done. Hopefully. That is the plan I have for myself anyway.

  • Get in shape and STAY in shape. (I'm good at the getting in shape part, but I always manage to slack off and be a huffing-and-puffing whale by the end of the year lol)
  • Eat healthier (this year has been the year of the poptarts and ice cream)
  • Save $$$ (for a puppy, hopefully?)
  • Lose the weight I gained this year (these extra 20 pounds do not look or feel pretty and are very inconvenient when running)
  • Be more confident in myself (this is going to be the hardest, I have a knack for second guessing myself and being a pushover...)
  • Run 12 miles straight by the end of the year (my longest mileage is 7.5 miles)
  • Keep track of my running on the handy-dandy excel sheet I made

Pretty sure that's everything :D

My big one: DO MORE WITH MY DOGS. Seriously. More training, more going out, more trialing.

Figure out what's wrong with my heart, especially so that I can exercise and lose weight. Right now any sort of exercise is dangerous.

Pay off my debts.

Obtain SD prospect puppy.

  • Eat Healthier / cleaner
  • In the same thought process - start a large garden & keep it in line. No slacking in the middle of July when it's 90* out, garden still needs weeding
  • Take more pictures/learn more about photography
  • Take more walks with Hudson

To eat healthier, lose weight and whenever I feel the urge to stuff my face due to stress, play with the puppy or take her for a walk instead.

I also like the be thankful for one thing every day thing Katielou said. I am adding that to my list, too :)
