Please someone help me, my cane corso bit a childs face and my ex gave the vet permission to have him put down.

He LEFT THE DOG ALONE WITH THE CHILD. It is his girlfriends son. He is not a vicious dog and what he did was totally inappropriate it is my exes fault not the dogs! He did not viciously bite but my ex knew perfectly well that hugo does not see the kid as alpha and should not be alone with him!!!!!

I need to get my dog out of there, I already have a home where he will be loved and taken care of with out children and the vet will not give him to me says I need my exes permission. My ex will not cooperate, he thinks somehow murdering him will absolve his guilt over what happened. I AM SO STRESSED OUT PLEASE SOMEONE I don't know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The vet was absolutely horrible to me and I need to rescue my dog I only have till tomorrow morning!!!!!!

I paid for Hugo, and raised him, he was living with my ex so the vet says he is his dog.. its not true!! I don't know what to do :(:(

If vet records and everything is in his name and the dog has been living with your ex for so long I think technically he's his dog, not yours anymore. Sorry, I'm not sure there is anything you can do. :(

((((HUGS))))

I remember you and Hugo both. But I have to ask, how severe was the bite? If it was just a snap, I can understand your wanting to help Hugo. And I know it's hard to hear this----but if the bite was pretty bad, I think your ex is doing the right thing.

I can't tell you how sorry I am about this. I've been in your shoes. (((((Hugs)))) again.

If the child was treated by a doctor or emergency room staff, chances are the bite was reported. Was animal control involved in any way?

If he has the dog in his possession, as far as any authorities or the vet would be concerned, the dog is his. Even if you did succeed in proving the dog is yours, this would mean you would most likely be personally liable for the injury and you should know that.

This is so sad ! I agree, there's nothing you can do if the dog was under his roof and in his name . I'm so sorry !!!

Hello everyone sorry for not posting earlier, I've had a really rough and stressful few days.. the bite was not severe, his bottom teeth didn't catch and my ex is pretty sure the child may have fell on him or provoked him in some other way, not on purpose perhaps but they should not have been alone together as he is a 6 year old boy.. he is going to be fine and I was able to get in touch with my breeder and get their support and reg papers faxed in my name, as well my ex was more reasonable the next day and decided that it was not fair for Hugo to lose his life over the bite, and he was really happy that I forced the vet to wait. The vet however wanted to kill him and didn't agree with us but she talked about him like he was a disposable nothing, with no respect, like he didn't matter at all. It's like excuse me this is like my child and the vet doesn't know his personality or anything!! She was with him for what 10 minutes in a enviroment he wasn't used to and after the whole trauma of everything and she decides hes vicious?? :( I don't think so when I came to see him at the hopsital, when she was trying to force me to say goodbye because she wanted to kill him right then, I grabbed his head and kissed him and hugged him and well if he was vicious he wouldn't have allowed that because I had not seen him for 11 months because my ex kept putting me off.. He is a very sweet dog he just needs to be treated with respect and have more alpha training perhaps and still a 50 lb 6 year old, well they are going to have trouble convincing a 120 lb corso they are in charge..... just not a good idea. The adults should be in control and making sure things are okay.

I am really relieved and I have him now with me. I haven't had any problems, my pug has been aggressive tho with him so I am not leaving them alone together at all. Even then Hugo has shown no aggression to my pug, he just runs from him but im worried my pug could still provoke him if he goes crazy like that.. My golden and him have known eachother since Hugo was a puppy and it was like they were never apart... I am so relieved and thanking god right now thank you all of you for thinking of my dog and well this goes to show if you want to stop something bad enough and you fight for it you can save a life!! Never give up on your dog if you know whats right. I am sooo glad its turned out. Anyway, thank you again here is a pic of my baby.

Oh I'm so glad they didn't kill him. Just make sure he (or any dog for that matter) is not unsupervised with children again. He's a beautiful dog!

I am both glad the bite wasn't severe, and glad you were able to save him :)
