... but I always know when I'm due on my period because I CRAVE pickled onions.

I was just sat here... at 12.30am... thinking.. god I NEED a pickled onion, and we BETTER have some or I might actually die.

Luckily we did, and I ate two of the foul vinegary globes.

I fear for myself if I ever get pregnant.

I rarely eat pickled onions at any time, because usually, while the idea strikes me as ok, the result is usually sorely disappointing.. meh. Blurgh. They don't feature in my life. But I was actually just thinking, when I move back out, I might actually have to buy a jar to keep for emergencies.

Is that weird?

What weird cravings do you get or have had??? I can't be alone in this.

Aside from the usual carbs/chocolate.

I crave sweet/salty together. I ran into the pharmacy today and purchased a bottle of Advil, a box of tampons, and a huge bag of Nestle Flips (chocolate covered pretzels). The check-out woman had the nerve to say "have a good day". I wanted to ask her if she really thought that was possible given what I was buying!

Um, there was the obsessive craving for peas a while ago. I had my mother stock the freezer with them, probably 20 large bags, and ate them up within a week and then wanted still more. I ate only peas for a few days straight. They were really good. :D

Usually it's cravings for sugar or candy. Last month it was for dried mangos.

I never crave sweet things.... I have a far more savoury tooth. I like salty stuff.

Pickled onions is unusual though, because I don't particularly like them.

That's more my point :D

I crave junk food. Well not really that I just get really hungry like I cannot get enough food in my system.

I am lucky, I always know when my period is coming. It comes the same day each month. Which is the 1st of every month. Sometimes depending on how short the month is it will land on the 3rd and if the month is long, it usually comes 2 days before the 1st. Its been in that pattern for a year now!

I wish guys had periods...they always get the easy way out on things like that

I used to agree with you, but then think of all the whining, snivelling men all around. ;)

I am lucky, I always know when my period is coming.
You are lucky. I'm on BC and I still don't know so exactly as you do.

When non-pregnant, salted smoked fish. Or pickled fish, like pickled herring. Oh. My. Gosh. I miss pickled herring. I can't eat gluten, and of all things I miss most it has to be that. But seriously, if anybody knows of a brand of pickled herring without wheat starch, I'll give you a hug.

What is a pickled onion? I mean I can probably put 2 and 2 together and guess.........but I have never had one and definitely never seen them around to buy/order.

When I was pregnant I craved potato chips with coleslaw for dip, and corn chips with a nice ripe black avocado for dipping. That's it, nothing too weird.

Now my friend, she craved (and ate ) scrambled eggs with cool whip all over.........BARF!

Have any of you watched that show on travel channel with that guy who eats anything? Haha, you really need to.

oooh, I got to ask you, would any of you try the edible gold chocolate sunday if you had a million dollars to eat it?

My great auntie makes her own pickled onions.. They are not for the weak hearted, she never seemed to get her head round the whole idea that you are supposed to blanch the onions BEFORE putting them in vinegar... So yep, raw onions, which have been in vinegar for months..

They are like small nuclear weapons.. One onion and the whole world falls out of your bottom..

She insists on giving me 3 jars every christmas, I have always been too polite to tell her that noone actually wants them..

In the event of a war locally I have enough ammo to kill half of France... At last count I had about 15 jars..

:rofl1: Louie!

I always crave spicy or spicy/sweet together. This month is killing me though, I don't know what's going on. I've had my PMS cravings, sore boobs, insomnia, mood swings and "bloated like an elephant" days and yet...nothing. One day of very light and that was it...yet I'm still get the flitting cramps like something's about to start. I hate my cycle. It's super regular for the most part, then every so often it just goes all out of whack for no particular reason.
