I hate this dang apartment.
Before we moved in, I did my research and I heard really bad reviews. I heard about people complaining about the management, about how they've discovered mold, rats, termites, etc...a few people even said that they developed breathing problems.
I told my mom, and my aunt and uncle (they helped us choose it), everyone brushed it off. Ahh, yes, those people are probably just mad that they didn't get their deposit back or something. Of course, who is going to listen to the 16 year old girl?
Little by little, we started having problems with this place similar to the reviews I had read.
Very recently, we started having termite problems. It makes me so mad that they won't do anything about it besides spot treatments. These **** spot treatments DON'T WORK. they spent 2 hours inspecting everything and doing the treatments and we still have loads of termites today. They are only in the living room and dining room(for now), so I've been avoiding those rooms because bugs of any kind creep me out.
On top of that, I feel sick. I just spent 6 days with my brother at his place and I was doing great. I came home last night and this morning I woke up feeling horrible. I don't know if I have one of those mysterious breathing problems I had heard about on the apartment reviews, but there is definitely something about this place that makes people sick. I'm not the only one that's said that either, because another family member noticed it too. /:

I'm just really stressed and grossed out with these termites, lol.

Wow that's disgusting. Can you call the County Health Office? I *think* they would be the ones to do an inspection and force the owner to do something about mold and/or termites. That's what I threatened one of my landlords with when they wouldn't do anything about the mold on our wall (turned out there was a broken sewer pipe in the wall ::hork::).

I'm sorry you feel crappy again - that really sucks. :( (((hugs)))

Yup, what Taqroy said. An anonymous call to the board of health might be the way to go. If all else fails, is there a consumer advocate journalist with a local TV station. Sometimes a call to them may get some wheels moving.

I'd call the landlord. Explain the situation is un - freaking acceptable, and that they need a licensed exterminator out there. California has some pretty generous renter protections.

California H&S Code Section 17920.3 covers infestations.
