Hemming doesn't work as well with flare legs though...although those are rather out of style. I guess. I have no idea. I buy Mudds or L.E.I's...occasionaly I can find a pair in "short" that work quite well, but it's rare. Maybe because I buy all my jeans at Kohl's? :p

I went to 5 different stores trying to find jeans for Hyia. She is 7, you wouldn't think it a big deal would you? ALL the jeans were low, and my Mom isn't about to let her wear those, besides Hy doesn't like them either. EVery single store had nothing else in a size 8. MAcy's, Dillards, JC Penny's, Walmart and K-mart all the same. THen they put these rediculous belts that the little fingers cannot manage or buttons so hard that Hy is in the dressing room in tears cause her fingers are not strong enough to push the button through the button hole and i can't buy any that she isn't able to fasten herself at school. FInally we give up and get a pair of cargo pants that have to go back for whatever reason GG didn't think they would work and two pair of sweats. THe sweatpants had stuff printed across the behind, just what you don't want on a child. SO we opted for the ones that said soccer and baseball instead of princess and babe. IT was insane. SHe and i had to go to the Olive Garden to recover:D Our nerves were just shot.

Ack I have that problem with jeans and any kind of trousers, they are all just way too long. I hate shopping and looking for a pair of jeans that actually fit is my worst nightmare, my legs are just too short for my body.

Ha well I have the opposite problem! They are never long enough!! LOL!

I have a 34/36" inside leg (i'm 5ft 9" but most of that is leg!), but only a US size 8 waist, with hips that are about a size 10, so if they fit on the waist they are too small on the hips, if they fit on the hips they are HUGE on the waist! So I have to get the stretchy style jeans... Doesn't stop them hanging off the waist though! *sigh*

I like jeans that sit right about on my hips anyway, they're so much more comfortable than jeans that come up to my belly button. I just have to watch and make sure I'm not getting the kind that pooch out in the back when you squat down and show the world just what sort of undies you've got on for the day. Or not.

Mine are too I think....I finally got a pair of pants (not jeans) to fit but they are like a MILE too long so I will have to get my mom to hem them

I have the opposite problem with jeans as well. They're never long enough. I have very long legs and I'm about 5' 8". Also, like Renee, I have jeans that I used to be able to wear and I'm working on fitting into again.

That's what tailors are for :D Unless you go out and buy an expensive pair of jeans at a JEAN store you will not find the right fit. At a jean store you can usually find the right hip size that has different lengths but you will be paying quite a bit of money for them. IMO, no pair of jeans is worth $100. Get a pair that fit in the hips and waist and then get them hemmed.

that's what "what not to wear" says :D

I Found Them!!!! I Found Them!!!!

They fit in the waist and hips and are the right length :D :D

They are Arizona brand :) JcPenney's was having a special buy one pair and get the next pair for a dollar...

and Arizona has different length sizes also so I was able to get my size in the short length (they also have regular and long lengths also)

I have all sorts of issues with jeans.

First, I wear a size 0 in juniors so if I'm at sears or Penny's or a store like that, they're EXTREMELY hard to find. Usually 3 is the smallest size they have. And then when you do find a pair of 0's, they're not very pretty. They're usually some ugly green wash or something like that. So in order to find cute jeans in the right size, I have to go to special stores that sometimes can be rather expensive.

Then, they can sometimes be too short in length. I'm 5'8" and mostly leg. So most of my jeans are right at my ankle.

Whats also annoying is that sizes seem to be getting bigger. I was at Pacific Sun the other day buying a pair of jean shorts. I found a 0 and it fit like a size 3! I actually had to buy a 00.

That's a ploy to make people want to buy those jeans "oh, look honey! I usually wear a 20, but in this brand I'm only a 14!" It's a feel-good marketing tactic.

I have problems with two things: a short waist and a depressing lack of junk in the trunk, LOL.

Low-rise jeans are a godsend for me. With regular jeans, I feel like the waistband goes up to my armpits. And when I find a pair of jeans that fits me perfectly elsewhere, the butt area hangs and sags. It took a long time, but I found that the Old Navy low-waist jeans fit me perfectly.
