Lots of (gentle) hugs - I'm glad she's here and you're both safe, but I'm sorry things didn't go as planned.

Her photos are GORGEOUS! I love the mermaid one!

Girl, you are a warrior! I was impressed with myself for making it six, but thirty!? Holy cow! That's incredible!
Congratulations, she is so beautiful and I know you're going to be a great mom. <3

Thanks so much, everyone! Labor was very intense... Had my midwife been checking my dilation and letting me know it hadn't progressed in 12 hours, I would've made the decision for a hospital transfer sooner :( She kept telling me I was in the transition stage and was so close... But in actuality Nora was very stuck and contractions were doing nothing to help.

I am so thankful we're both okay! The worst part about the c-section has been the recovery time for sure. It being major surgery is no joke! I feel like I'm finally feeling more like myself now, though, even though I still have some pain.

At first I was really sad about the c-section since I planned so much for a natural birth... But really, all that matters is that Nora came out safely. I felt very comfortable with the medical staff at the hospital, and everyone treated me wonderfully. We were joking about eating placentas as they stitched me up in the OR, haha. The weirdest part about the surgery was being awake and feeling all of the tugging/pulling as they dislodged Nora from my pelvis.

Wow, what an intense delivery! Glad you are both well, she is absolutely gorgeous. :)

Also wondering how the dogs are doing with her! This is a huge worry of mine for the future.

congrats on the baby making :) Enjoy these days because they fly by. It's not cliche, it's the ****ing truth :) I try soaking up every second, and it still seems like not enough.

Congrats again, the new pictures are GORGEOUS.

(((hugs))) That's so hard, I'm sorry. I LOVED my epidural though - and I was in the same situation as you (only 12 hours of labor though and actually regressing) and the epidural was fricking amazing. I'm glad you're both safe and sound and definitely take it easy on yourself for awhile.

Thanks so much, everyone! I'm feeling better and better everyday. I can't believe Nora is already 13 days old- time is flying by.

I received the rest of her newborn photos and wanted to share this one since you can see her pretty blue eyes :)

The dogs are doing well with her! They ignore her for the most part but like to sniff her. Haha. They're doing much better than I imagined.

She's gorgeous!! I also labored over 30 hours (around 36). Not fun! Definitely take it really easy (I separated my ab muscles just turning around about 2 weeks after giving birth)
