As some of you may know I have a male yearling Chinook Ziya I am training for a couple for racing. This is their first time trying dog racing of any kind and I am more then happy to teach them as well as Ziya. Well I got Ziya about 3 months ago along with Wart my other yearling (which I have no decided to train and sell but I want shared ownership like I have with Ziya). I have not seen Ziyas owners out here in two months  . It was agreed I would help teach them both how to mush learn terms and such to get them on their way. They showed up twice during that first month and never since I havent gotten a phone call. But I have still been getting my monthly checks for his training. So I knew I wasent just dumped with a dog.

Finally today I get a phone call from the husband today and when I mentioned that they havent been out for classes she just kind of laughed a bit and said that he and he wife decided to not train Ziya in sled racing    . Im upset because I have put ALOT of work into this dog worked with him and he shows alot of promise. And now they want to rip him right out of training. The reason im upset is this dog is the type to live to run and to have a job. I have a feeling this couple is not going to do whats right for him and thats sad. I half want to offer to take him if they ever have a problem but I can't take on anymore dogs not right now. I will tell them to let me know if it doesent work out because I know people who would love to give him a good home where he can have a job.

People just make me so angry sometimes. So Ziya is going to be leaving tomarow and its going to be hard to say goodbye to such a great dog.

Who knows with those two.....I asked what they planned to do with him then and they said that they just wanted him to be a house pet. I wanted to scream "then you got the wrong breed!!!!!!!" Chinooks especially are not meant to just be house pets the NEED a job or they will wreck your home and life. Especially a dog like Ziya who loves work and to always been busy.

When I first got him he was into EVERYTHING it was really hard to tucker him out and even to hold his attention span. Though I have house trained him and did obedience work with him since I knew he was going to be an inside dog with his family. But who knows how he will act out with know stimulation. I plan to fill them in on all my feelings and thoughts on this.

They did say they respect my opinion since I am well know for my knowledge of Chinooks and being a respecting breeder and trainer of these dogs. So hopefully they won't job down my throat when I tell them what I think. Hopefully it will turn out for the best I don't know.

Maybe after I talk to them maybe I can convince them Ziya is not the dog for them. Maybe they would agree to sell him to musher or some one who knows Chins I don't know.
