Everybody thinks Auggie and Georgie are puppies. Auggie is going gray in the face and I still get "oh is he a puppy?!"

Nobody ever seems to guess Payton's age. I think because he is more normal-sized people assume he's a dog. Agility people always want to know how old he is because they know he is young but I think they estimate he is younger than he actually is based on his behavior...

Pepper doesn't go out and do the whole "in public" thing so nobody guesses hers either. =P

When I have Gabby at work with me people tend to think she's older (she'll be nine next month... sad) because she lies in her bed quietly. When I am out working her in public people think she's 4-5ish.

Nobody ever thinks Bailey is as old as she is. When she was more neurologic a couple of months ago people thought 10ish but not almost 15.

I try really hard to preserve my dogs' bodies. I don't want them fitting in the age stereotypes many people have.

Now that Morgan is a little gray around the muzzle, I get a lot of mixed reactions. Typically, the knee-jerk "he's a puppy!" immediately followed by "wait, is he a puppy?"

He will be seven next month.

Depends on the context, but usually Feist gets pegged for older. I think because she sticks with me off leash and listens well? And she's a dude.

Most people tend to guess that Zander is around 2 or 3. He'll be 10 in February.

Quinn gets a lot of comments that she is older than what she is. Maybe 15 months to 2 years. She's about 10 months.

Meg is so very grey that people always think she is older than she really is.

Gusto is such a freakish weird alien thing (and has those big bug eyes and small muzzle) that people are always shocked he's an adult.

Someone asked me if Maisy is a puppy the other day (she's 6). People are often surprised that Pip is 9. I don't think anyone has really ever guessed at Squash's age, people usually just ask.

Everyone thinks they are pups... Lily more so, though I can't understand why with her face a good portion of the way to being completely grey. And apparently they are both male dogs.

It depends on what Dekka is doing. If she is being chill people assume she is older (even when she was really young, people just aren't used to seeing chill JRTs) If she is out and about everyone is shocked she is nearly 10. Esp on the agility field, she still runs full tilt.

They think he's a puppy. He's actually like 10. No one believes me when we're in public. My neighbors even have trouble with the idea. He has puppy brain.

It's only ever really come up with Juno, much to my surprise people usually think she's younger. It just always shocks me because she's so gray, I think she looks like an old lady. But I guess her body condition and the activities people see her do probably hint at a younger dog.

I would assume it's fairly obvious Cajun is young and Happy is geriatric. Lucy I guess could go either way.

Everyone thinks Rumor is incredibly young, and it's most likely because she's crazy. She's finally gotten some grey on her muzzle in the past several months so I think we're past the days of everyone assuming she's a puppy, but no one ever guesses her to be well on her way to 10. I've noticed that she's slowed down, but she can still tend to be slightly off-the-wall.

Ohhh I love this question!!!

So first, real ages: Dodger is 9 as of Monday, Codex turns 4 next Monday.

I've had people say within the last year:
- Dodger must be the younger of the two dogs
- Dodger must be a year old since he's a big puppy
- Insert 10's of different ways to say: Dodger can't be older than 2

His grey is *just* now starting to show up and it's only under this chin, so most people don't notice it. He still runs hard, plays hard and acts like a total GOOF all day every day.

Sara took this photo from this summer. It's one of my favorite photos of him because he just looks so happy to be doing things. He still comes to disc comps and plays (although his version of Freestyle is very much.... free to him to decide). Whenever he's had a focused Toss and Catch he has outscored Codex by a lot. Man just loves to play, even at 9 years old.

Magpie and Jack are correctly identified as old, because they look old. No one guesses Jonas is nearly 9 because he doesn't have a single grey hair on him and he's still very spry. Smalls is always mistaken for a puppy despite being almost 8.

I can't say I've ever had any one ask/guess how old Elsa and Shambles are.

We don't usually get to that point with Elsie because she's such a spaz with strangers.

Instead we get, "How long have you had her?" with pity.

No one guesses for Zobs, either; they ask, "... what IS he?"

People are always shocked that Rowan is 8.5 which makes me very happy. They think anywhere from 1 to 5, average being 2-3. He's got a lot of gray around his eyes, but I think if you didn't know what he looked like before, you don't really notice. It blends well don't doesn't look "old."

No one has ever guessed or asked about Riff. I bet most assume he's an adolescent because what kind of person would let their 3.5 year
old dog be so wild? lol. We don't go out in public much though so people only ever see him at dog parks where my rules are very lax. There's basically only one and that's "don't be a nuisance to other people/dogs" and frankly we've left on more than one occasion when he decides to break that rule. He can be super annoying but I try really hard to not let it affect those around us.

People think Abby is between 1-3yrs, nope, she'll be 7 next month.

Zane is 7 and he's so grey people guess he's 10. Physically and mentally he is like a puppy.

Deputy, since he has CCD, people guess he's over 10. Sadly, he's only 8. :(

Kieber will eternally be a puppy. He turned 1 last month.
