Just like it says.

I would pay up to $200 for a pair of cowboy boots. I'd like to stay around $80 for summer hiking shoes. Maybe $150 for winter hiking boots.

You?

I've paid a max of $50 for a pair of tennis shoes. And honestly, with my lifestyle, that's all I really need! A good pair of shoes that I can stand in all day that won't hurt my feet or my back.

I can't imagine spending more than $60 on anything.

for work shoes that get trashed within 4 months, no more than $25. for some really really nice boots like New Rocks? $200, no problem

I own two pairs of expensive shoes - one $100+ (I think like 180$) pair of cowboy boots and a $300 pair of waterproof suede lace up boots. I've work the suede boots multiple times a week (almost every day in winter) for the past 7 years. I just broke the zipper, but I'll likely get it repaired because the boots are so important to me.

I did not buy either of those, they were gifts. I would pay $300 again for the boots, even if I had to save up and make sacrifices for them. The only shoes including sneakers that don't hurt my feet after hours. Only shoes that keep my feet dry besides wellies. Can wear with boot cut or skinny jeans. Look good with every outfit. If I paid for every time I wore them I bet it'd be way less than 50 cents a day.

Average shoes? If I LOVE them to death and will wear them often I might pay $50-$100. I've learned expensive shoes last longer. I'll pretty much only buy last season/clearance shoes that once were rather expensive and have reduced a lot.

Depends on what they are for...

My hiking boots were over $100...I do not remember the exact amount though.

I would spend a good amount on decent winter boots as well.

The mary jane style flats I wear every day cost maybe $30...

I guess it depends. My Bogs were a bit over $100 I think which I was kind of hesitant to spend, but they're so practical and have been super awesome for trudging through snow, mud, or puddles. So they were worth it.

Tennis shoes that I wear for work, I think my last pair was around $75 (but they were on sale + I had Kohls Cash so YEAH), but I'm on my feet for 11+ hours so I need something that's gonna last and something that is comfortable. I'm willing to spend a bit for that. I learned the hard way that cheap $20 tennis shoes from Payless do not work.

To summarize... I'll pay for practicality, or something that I need. I'm not going to spend that much on shoes just because they're cute. I WILL buy Payless shoes to fit that want. ;)

LOL

A friend of mine buys very very nice shoes. I always love to ask her how much they cost just because I cannot fathom being in a position to be able to afford them! Respect, strong woman, makin' money, buyin' **** fine shoes.

My first pair of running shoes cost me $130 and that is the most I've ever spent on shoes in my life. I pay about $90-100 per pair these days. I bought a pair for agility and lifting at Target for $15 and that is the cheapest I've bought a pair of workout shoes for in six or seven years I guess.

Normal not-running shoes are like $10-20. Unless they are flip-flops in which case $2.

Cowboy boots. A couple hundred dollars. Usually do so a couple times a year from rods or at congress or equine affair. Wondering if any will fit after my ankle injury. Someone may get a great deal on some boots if not!

Tennis shoes around a hundred? Try to spend much much less.

Dress shoes for work usually around fifty. Don't get anything but flats generally because I need to be able to run in them.

I was buying keens and realized I kept tripping. Something about the toe makes me loose my balance in them? No idea. I like the fit of the shoe but I fell all over the place in my newest pair. Goodwilled them and went back to muck boots and no falls since. My mom pointed out I did it in two older pairs to.

So much this.

My favourite two pairs right now cost ~$250 each.
My other season shoes are also usually in that range.

My runners are $150 ..because the world hates me.
Then I need cf shoes& those are $120 but last forever compared to runners.

I am cheap - I love nothing better than a kick ass sale find. The vast majority of my shoes should have cost me $110-150 and I got them for $35-85. :D

That being said, for shoes I will get a lot of use out of, I will happily pay up to about $120 if they check off all of my requirements.

Typically $60... that's how much I try to pay for my $120 sneakers, for example.

For the rest, unfortunately, in my experience, paying over $100 doesn't necessarily mean that the shoe will last, so right now I have no idea how much I would pay, lol. My $130 winter boots didn't last a season last year, but the ones I paid $60 for this year are still going strong, so who knows. But I still love my $120 sandals from last year.

I need to buy hiking shoes at some point though... otherwise I mostly wear sneakers...

I have kind of wonky feet and if I skimp on shoes or wear cheap ones too often I have a lot of issues. I am on my feet a lot in a typical work day and I will invest a good chunk of money into a pair of shoes that keeps that from being a problem.

Even my flip flops and sandals are Chacos, I need a solid arch and can't wear the cheapies. On the good side, they last freaking forever.

I buy cheap sneakers. $50 tops, I love converse all stars but I only buy them on sale. I trash them quickly and then mend them until they're beyond repair.

I don't own a real pair of running shoes. At the gym I wear my goofy toe shoes. I spent $80 on a pair of Vibram KSOs, which are going strong after three years and a lot of washes. When these finally die I will definitely buy a new pair.

I think boots are what I'd justify spending the most money on, now that I live in a cold climate and need the foot protection with my job. I'd drop $200 on a pair of steel-toed tims or docs for work, and probably will this coming winter. The $60 work boots I own are showing serious signs of wear after only about five months and I don't want to keep buying new boots because mine keep breaking.

Depends on the type.

I LOVE a sale, but I am a firm believer in NOT skimping on shoes because cheap shoes can cause a host of issues. So as in dog food, paying a little more up front can save money in the long run :)

Any shoe I (or family members) intend to be standing on my feet long periods (sneakers, hikers, etc) I have no issue paying $100-$200....hopefully I have a coupon or a good sale for them though.

Dress shoes/boots? I prefer to keep that below $75 (sale price, cause that's about the only way I buy dress shoes) Not saying I wouldn't go a bit higher for boots, but they'd have to really wow me with their style! LOL

Definitely NOT a manolo blahnik kind of girl here! LOL

It definitely depends. Cute shoes, not a lot. I have a pair of flats in brown, grey and black and I think they were each $20. I have a cute pair of black boots that I love that were $45 I think.

Now outdoor shoes.... I have 2 $125 pairs of Chacos and I reaaalllyyy want another pair of customs, I have 2 pairs of minimus running shoes that were $130 each. But those chacos have lasted me 4+ years, including wearing them 24/7 while working at a summer camp all summer. And my running shoes are just awesome. I wear them all the time hiking and running and they're still going to last me YEARS.

Ack! what the heck, I don't know why I read the thread as how much would you pay to repair shoes...

Nevermind!!

I usually spend $40-200 on shoes. $200 for nice boots or heels or something. I do have a few pairs of $600-700 shoes but those are only for special occasions and some were gifted to me. Usually I spend about $40 for walking/tennis shoes and a bit more for boots.

I have a pair of Chaco's that I've had for 12 years and they're in fantastic shape. They make amazing shoes.

Sass I'm the same. I will pay whatever I have to pay for a pair of shoes that will work with my feet. If I don't have proper arch support I am literally hobbled.

And I actually wear Chacos too! LOL. The best part is that most of them can be resoled! Mine are still going strong and I not only wear them around town but I also hike in them all summer as well.
