We can't have more than six of any combination of dogs, cats, ferrets and rabbits at one time. Within that combination, we can't have more than 3 dogs per dwelling unit.

No limit, but you have to purchase a rabies tag for each dog/cat over the age of 3 months. $10 for 1 yr for spayed/neutered pets, $25 for intact. $15 for 3 yr s/n, $60 for 3 yr intact.

I think it's 3 here? I looked into it a long time ago when I was breeding, and the laws are ridiculous for those of us in the sticks... But I'm at limit and don't plan on adding any, prior to the fire we were over if you counted the kids dogs but because it was a duplex I think we could've played stupid...

How many dogs are you legally allowed to have where you live? Do you obey this? Are there laws like kennel laws where you are allowed to have more? What about where you live if you live in a complex or an apartment?
3. I have 4, and the only thing they told me was "don't get any more." :)

Ours aren't that specific.

Apts/complexes can make their own rules; the city rule for regular homes is 3.

I tried to look it up but cannot find it anywhere. So I'm just assuming that there is no limit, on dogs or overall pets? Good thing for one of my neighbors, because they seem to have anywhere from 5 to 8 Pugs!

No limit here as far as I know, but we're out in the country. I looked it up and if you live in the actual village, there's a three dog limit for houses and a one dog limit for apartments. I've never heard of that being enforced, though.

We are required to get them licensed, and licenses for intact dogs are substantially more than licenses for altered dogs.

3 dog limit here, with the option to get a kennel license if you have more. We are currently at two, adding a third this year, and a fourth in 1-2 years.

I believe the limit is four, we have five. I wasn't dumping one of my dogs when we moved from El Paso where the limit is six, so the city can get over it. They don't care really as long as your dogs aren't a nuisance, and mine aren't, so I'm not worried.

I can never remember. I've been told that the limit is four, and I've also been told there is no limit. Just tried looking it up but couldn't find it at the moment. Either way, we're within the limit.

3 but you can apply for a kennel license to keep more. I only know this because it was a question on the adoption application I had to fill out for Happy

It's not enforced. I don't even license my animals. The clinic I work at is the impound facility for the city's strays, so we see the animal control officer every day and chat with her.... and while it's not the city I live in so rules may be different, but she says they really don't care how many animals people have or if they're licensed or not; they only get on your case about it if you have nuisance animals that people are complaining about or if your animals or always being impounded. So for most people, the city doesn't find limits or licensing all that important.

Spent way too long looking for a limit, then came to the conclusion there is not one.

Various towns in the area or 2 or 3 per household. Fostered animals do not count though. I have no desire to ever have more than that.

I never knew there was a limit until I asked about keeping poultry in city limits. But apparently I can legally keep two animals (any animals) smaller than the largest breed of dog. I'm way over that limit. It's obviously not enforced and I don't know anyone else who obeys the limit either.

I rent a small house with a nice sized yard, the rule is 2 dogs and NO CATS but my landlord is flexible (on the dogs). :)

The laws in my area are 6 before you need a kennel license. To my knowledge it's not strictly enforced, actually I don't think its enforced at all unless there are big complaints.
