How can I make a season easier?

My older bitch comes into season every four months. This time she also bought my just 7 month old into season as well.

I know that their nature changes but my little one is not happy at all. She is definately not herself. She is feeling it more than any of my others have.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make it easier for her and make her feel better?

have them spayed, then you wont have this problem, I have just noticed you breed, so you should know there is no such thing as a easy season

I know there is no such thing as an easy season, but she seems to be feeling it more than any of my others have. She is younger than my breed usually are when they have theri first season. Her mother was 12 months and her half sister was 10 months when they had their first season.

I suppose I just want to make her more comfortable and as happy as can be expected.

If it was me and I was a breeder I would choose to have her spayed. I don't think it's right to make them go through that just for puppies and she's obviously having a hard time.

having her spayed would only be a last resort.

She is a top show dog and is doing extremely well in the show ring, especially for her age. I have had judges wanting to buy her.

I had her at the vets for something else when she first started her season and she is perfectly healthy.

Yes but you are making her uncomfortable just for you. It doesn't matter if she's top in whatever. That only makes her happy. She's not happy. That should be important.

Thank you for your opinion. I am only after some home remedies to make her happier and comfortable.

If I had known what this forum was like, I would never have joined it. I was only after some helpful advice, not unrealistic advice.

If she was in pain or having serious problems, I would not hesitate in having her spayed. She is just uncomfortable and unhappy.

She has just turned 7 months.

I am sorry that you are such a hard case and can't be realistic.

I am also sorry that I came here asking for advice. I won't make the same mistake again!

I thought that the people here were friendly and helpful. How wrong could I be?

I have some herbal remedies at home which can help humans and dog going through "that time". If you come back I will post them. I am fortunate that my female has easy heat cycles.

My friend who breeds has a couple of females who get "bitchy":) I think she gives them raspberry leaf...that could be while they are pregnant.

Once I have my books in front of me I will help you.:)

Thank you Athebeau but I am in Australia. I wasn't sure if anyone had any remedies I could make up here. All my other girls have easy seasons. I have been told that it is only because she is so young for our breed.

That could be that where she is so young. My female "Tori" when she was younger went through a few split heats...that really drove me insane.:)

I will post later some herbal remedies that may help your dog. I give my girl dandelion root, slippery elm bark even when not in season off/on. I heard that dandelion root is great.:)
