what do you guys do as a hobby? My world mainly revolves around bees, pictures & soap. Sometimes it includes easy crocheting, but I've managed to get burned out on that one.

I really want to learn to make cheese in 2016, but we'll see if that happens...what are you guys doing in your free time?

Your hobbies are so neat! If I had some land, I would love to have a small bee colony just for personal/family use (if that's even possible?)

Soap making is actually on my list for this year. There is a place near me that runs different workshops, one of which was soap making. I missed it, but they said they'll be running it again. It looks really fun!

As for my hobbies, I'm a baker by trade, but I enjoy baking in my free time as well. I recently started crocheting, and have a couple projects to start now that the busy season is over.
I also play basketball in the fall-spring, and play frisbee in the spring-summer.

Does watching documentaries on Netflix count as a hobby? I do that a lot!

I have way too many hobbies and way too little time for them.

Art/crafting kinda stuff. Right now a lot of wire wrapping jewelery but I do stuff like woodburning, dioramas, some painting, etc. All my recent projects were Xmas presents.

Reading and writing. I write mostly essays/articles, I used to write screenplays.

Yoga.

I do other stuff like gardening, cooking, casual hiking, and used to go to a lot of museums and live music (mostly folk) shows/festivals, but now I'm a boring mom and just do play doh and sing Disney soundtracks.

I'd say backpacking is my 'main' hobby. It's my favorite activity, and I can do it with the dogs! I also love day hiking when I don't have the time to go on an overnight trip. And I love to kayak, canoe, and SUP in the spring, summer, and fall.

I also love to play frisbee, and I recently started playing the ukulele. Oh, and dogs, because you guys probably didn't know that.

I'm a bit of a ski bum in real life lol. In the winter I spend most of my days off in the mountains.

I also like hiking and I lift weights for funsies. And I like working on cars but I wouldn't count that as a hobby since that's about to be a career for me.

I really want to get into kayaking and SUP. And ditto what locke said about watching netflix lol.

Horseback riding used to be my main hobby. I rode for about a decade but then after my horse died, I stopped before starting to go again once a week and eventually stopped when I started university. But eventually I want to get back into it and hopefully find a horse to help patch the hole in my heart because I really did love it. :)

Now... I would say my hobby is school and the gym. I go to fitness classes about six days a week and I always feel great afterwards so it's finally become more of a hobby and less of a chore like it was at the start. :p My boyfriend is big into skiing, although mostly tricks and jumps, so we went a couple times over the break and it's something I think would be fun to get back into since we went all the time when I was younger as a family... we stopped going when I started getting more serious about riding and didn't have the time to go anymore.

I feel like work and college have overtaken my life!

Horses are probably #1 (why we have the farm, tractor, spend so much money, what we base most our vacations on etc) dogs follow close behind.

Four wheeling but haven't had much time to go recently. Nice to go hop on and ride around the property when stressed though.

Collecting my little pony was way up there for a long time. Everything is still mostly boxed up from my move and while I do still go to flea markets I only buy what I know is missing from my collection( and merchandise cuz it's neat and I'm a bit if a hoarder!).

Plan this year is to learn soap making. Want to get sheep but am in agreement to have my land fixed and hayed a couple years so may not get any until that's done. Also wanting to possibly do agility but when am I gonna have time for that??

I draw a lot, and read. Also I'm a long distance runner (although I'm kind of off track right now and out of shape :o) I'm hoping to get back into all of these soon, although school + puppy = a very busy me.

I would totally love hiking if I had time to do it. I definitely enjoy nature and the outdoors.

Most of my real hobbies happen in the summertime because teaching kind of sucks up most of my life (this is only my first year).

I read (a ton) hike, backpack, canoe, kayak and camp a lot in the Summer and Fall. I have a pretty awesome vegetable and herb garden. I also jog/run (I'm a steady distance kind of girl. Hate sprinting.) I also play board games with my friends a lot.

My hobbies include inspecting Terri's bees, testing her soaps and lip balm, and soon to include eating all of her cheese.

The best hobbies.

Aside from dogs, I'm really into fishkeeping, and as soon as I move out of my apartment I'd like to get into reptiles and maybe tarantulas.

I play piano and clarinet.

I like video games.

I have a horse and used to ride all the time, but I've been consumed by school.

Right now college takes up most of my time, but I graduate in December so after that anything goes.

The animals are number one, although I'd like to downsize to just dog, cats, and gerbils. My leopard gecko is 11 so she isn't going anywhere but I'm considering rehoming my hermit crabs and frogs (if I can get my sick frog healthy again).

Gardening is another big one. More specifically I like growing from seed and indoor plants. We have a veggie garden each year that is all grown from seed, I start them inside under lights in winter/early spring. Same with herbs. I don't care too much for flower gardens though, I really only care about the stuff I started myself (and flowers from seed just aren't my forte). I also have cacti and orchids. I think I'm going to stop buying cacti though, I just don't have the best luck with them. They are a pain to take care of because I need to keep them outside in the warm months but limit their water-so lots of last minute rushing them indoors occurs when rain is coming. Then I need to properly time their last drink of the year so that they are dry when I need them to go dormant, I failed at that this year an rotted one. Plus I really have no where for them to go dormant properly. I do much better with the orchids. I was given a bonsai for Christmas so I might get into those now too.

My newest hobby is knitting, I did a few scarves and am doing a dog sweater now. The scarves could get a bit boring, repeating the same thing over and over for 5 feet, but I'm really enjoying the dog sweater and think I'll like other smaller things like hats, mittens, socks, etc.

I love to read as well, mainly sci fi/post apocalyptic/dystopian novels.

Dogs are my main hobby. If all goes well here shortly, dogs will be my only hobby for a long time. We'll be spending so much money trying to make dogs a full-time hobby, there won't be any money for anything else!

Other hobbies include beer brewing, traveling and taking pictures

I built a gaming PC and play lots of games.
Soooooo glad I am not the only one. LOL Well, DH built the PC. I just game.

I also love to read and I've been playing the piano for the past 19 years. I've dabbled in creative writing, but I have a hard time actually following through with my ideas.

Your hobbies are so neat! If I had some land, I would love to have a small bee colony just for personal/family use (if that's even possible?)
We only have 4 hives, which is definitely more than needed for personal/family use. 2 hives is a good number, it gives you enough bees if something happens to one hive, you have another that you can split.

Soap making is actually on my list for this year. There is a place near me that runs different workshops, one of which was soap making. I missed it, but they said they'll be running it again. It looks really fun!
soap making is easy! The worst part dealing with the lye, it's kind of obnoxious, but it isn't hard, you just have to be careful

Other than the beasties, I like to read, and I guess I'm a book collector, too. Last count put my horse books at over 300, the dog books are catching up, and lots of reference books (dictionaries, art, photography, graphic art, flora, & fauna), history, & biographies, along with favorite novels, historical fiction, mysteries and science fiction.
In warmer weather, I amuse myself (but not my family) by chasing/stalking dragonflies, damselflies, and butterflies with a camera and then poring over my reference books to identify what I've 'caught'.
I also collect dog figurines, started with a china collie my great-grandmother gave me decades ago. I tend to research my figurines, to find out who made them, the history behind the company or artist, and the methods used. It takes some detective work occasionally but it's kind of fun.
I had started researching family history but Sis has taken that over and she also researches the social mores, health concerns, employment, and educational opportunities for people of whatever time period and area - she's a history buff so it's right up her alley.

My main hobby is crochet, with some knitting thrown in. You know... yarn stuff.

My biggest hobby, though, is cornsnakes. I've been breeding for specific genetic color traits. (That said, I am about two years behind on my plans due to moving house ~18mos ago.) At the moment, I have twelve corns, four of which I produced myself.

Note: None of those three snakes are related to each other. XD The top pictured is Reggie, my very first snake. The other two are babies I hatched out here, one from a loan agreement and the other completely independently. Both are much bigger than that now... these pictures are kind of old.

Other than that, I do some sewing and other crafty things when I can. I guess you could also put video games on the list, and I've recently started playing RPGs with dice. I also enjoy reading and drawing, but I rarely have time to do those things, anymore. Once upon a time, drawing and art was my major hobby and I miss it so very much.
