Hi, I just found this page, still exploring!

Anyway, I've been here for a week or two now, but I still say I'm new! I'm from the Austin, TX area, have a 4-year-old chihuahua, Luna (agility junkie!), along with a cat and a rat (yes, pet). I've been a professional trainer for over three years now - spent almost 3 years training pet dogs, then recently quit to train service dogs. I miss helping people with training their pet dogs, so that's why I'm here!

Welcome! Would love to see pictures!

I love rats! I rescue rodents. :)

(Can I suggest something though? Rats are extremely social and live much better lives with a companion, or 2..Or 10 lol)

Hi and welcome to Chazhound! Training service dogs is such a wonderful thing to do. I was a volunteer puppy trainer with CCI for a while and I learned so much! I'm sure you'll have fun conversing with this great community. I have collies and live in Southern California. See you around!

I KNOW that rats are social, particularly females - I'd NEVER get a pet without doing a little research first. To explain, my second rat just died a few weeks ago, and I'm still "shopping" for another, although it's difficult cause my current rat is over 2 years old, and I don't think she wants a "little sister."

Thanks for the input, though.
