Found on a friend's squirrel trap. Feral mama watched from the tree line. No point in giving little bit back, there is a greater chance for a better life on the new road. Showed the mama I hd her baby and I wasn't going to hurt it. Took the mama the baby beef baby food I had given the baby so she could see her baby had food, and she could have the rest. She wouldn't come up to me for anything so I couldn't find out if there wer emore. From the way this kitten acts I don't think there was. Came home scrubbed a zillion fleas off of the baby and here we are. Again.
I AM SO PROUD OF MY GUYS.

Wow, kitty settled right in! There would have been hysterics at our house (a couple of older kitty noses out of joint, although the Hooligans would probably welcome a new partner in crime). Are you keeping or looking for a good home?

haha Snark, Ressie has nothing good to say about THAT whatsoever. Nose out of joint would be an understatement. Reminded him how Sancho took to him during his baby stage means not one thing.

bless that old red cat's heart.

no one can stay..he has to be out of here asap.
I have a friend that is looking for a kitten so he she can stay until Tuesday to see. After that I will be in dire straights. So fingers crossed.

Sooooo I washed little kitten sat out in the sun and dried little kitten for over an hour. No problem what so ever. Sat all evening with little kitten with the dogs, no problem. Next morning I open jar of yummy meat and look at all of my gang acting like I am abusing them and decide to go back out into the sunshine and feed little kitten. Kitten sits on my lap lapping up the food and suddenly takes off like a bullet out of a gun and runs under the privacy fence that is on the ground stacked at the neighbors.

I have 2 toddlers and a bay arriving in less than a half hour.
I try to reach the kitten. No good. I try to calmly call for Hyia, how do you do that? without making the situation worse but she cannot hear me. SO I do the stupid thing and lift up on the board. I never claimed I was bright. Kitten did exactly what I should have known it would do, it wedged in tighter in crack. Now I can't put the boards down, because they will crush it.

So I am cursing my stupidity times two when kitten shoots out the back, again like a bullet out of a gun, and is out of sight.

you know what I said over and over and over with my heart in my throat.
I call PEpper out. Pepper find your baby. Pepper has a great time bounding around in the woods. But she is no help.

I felt that kitten had to be close, hold up. So I look and look and find ground hog tunnels, and ravine wash outs, and there is a kabillion places a small baseball size of camouflage can hide. Now I hear the children arrive.

My son offers to go out and starts to look but I am afraid Hyia and a full grown man crashing around in the underbrush isn't going to work I tell them to go on. I tell Hyia it's up to you now. Give her mosquito spray. ANd feel sick to my stomach thinking of all the things that will turn kitten into a pellet by dawn.

An hour goes by, and then two. Now I am worried about Hyia so I call and call, but she can't hear me.

I am just about to have a complete panic when I see one red, scratched, dirty, stick and brush covered Hyia with a kitten clamped to her chest.

She said he was crossing the creek and was stuck. THat creek is about a foot ball field straight down hill.

So She calls the kitten sugar cube, I call the kitten **** Lucky. Kitten doesnt' get near that door without being in a crate and has until Tuesday to bond with people and houses and stop looking for a whole in the ground and Mama.

I wasn't using my head. I can't believe I made such a mistake, and that won't happen twice. IT was as bad as when I Found PEpper. I believe I posted I Found a dog. I lost a Dog. I am way too old for any of this and I am sick on top of it. I am so glad that kitten is not an owl pellet. THe purring video was taking after rescue and bath number two.
I don't know how but that kitten came back with almost as many fleas as he she came with in the first place.

Who would like to have the most relaxed take life in stride mellow, and very intelligent little man who sleeps either in your lap, or relaxes to the max close by? He even stayed out and played with the grandchildren last evening, and gave the baby's hand a sweet lick and a tender pat.
This is a very good kitten.

A very nice lady is going to give him a chance. I told her if for any reason she isn't completely smitten, I will come get him.

This is a good woman, and will keep him as an inside cat. Has been waiting for the right one, hers (which looked like little man) crossed the bridge a couple years ago. She is my age and responsible and compassionate. Kitten is the most loving lap baby, you look at him and he purrrrrrrrrs with great volume. He sleeps on my heart. He stole my heart. Ressie and Sancho stretch out on the carpet and wave tails just to see which one he will attack first. He ran and wrapped his arms around Sancho's neck and slide right in between his paws with a kiss. Ressie runs across the room with a tiny striped shadow, then the kitten runs past with a giant white one.

He has his little bag packed. One wadded up pipe cleaner, and a spare. Several ping pong balls. One pillow case that smells like his friends. His little crate and pot box, and the smallest cardboard castle to play and teeth on. Ressie practically ate his box and there for not my books and shoes. . Plus vet records, photos, and a bag of food. That's the best I can do for him. Sighs...he has made the whole house so happy. THank you all for sharing his tiny journey with me.

Little bear little bear is staying until Sunday at 2.
So Yay for me!
.
any parent who has shared the bed with the baby bed hog will give Sancho a thumbs up for being a great foster dad.

I spelled his name wrong above, Fenn loves his big red foster daddy.

Hell has frozen over, Ressie really wants kitten to play now. He wants him however to jump into the box and Fenn doesn't' understand that.

baby purrs could cure all woes.

all fosters kittens need a big red grampa Sancho.

Uncle Ressie is warming up. He does a lot of exaggerated tail wagging with that long tail of his trying to get kitten to chase him.

lady wants a couple more days to think about it which is fine. I would rather someone be for sure on a forever home than not.. So I will take him back to the vet Monday for a second worming. And Zoom if your Mom is still interested let me know.

She just needs time and that is Ok dokey with me. There is no pressure, there is no worries, there is only an opportunity if she feels it is right for her and I respect her taking this to heart.. IT is all completely good. I told her that, and I meant every single word of it.

Little Bear learns manners

Look they left me room. Good thing I am skinny.

HORRRRAY this good woman has decided on YES. So little bear little bear just hit the lottery of good luck for a wild child born in dirt and stuck in a trap. If only all of them could be so lucky. I saw a couple week old kitten mewing in a statuary lot this afternoon. I thought uhnonononononononononooooooo but a wild Mama ran past and zipped that baby up and ran off and I thought oh good grief but I am relieved.

So Tuesday he will move on to his next adventure in his life which is just about right for his 8 week old time line. I will miss him I won't say I am not completely smitten but we will all recover. Ressie might remember to be nicer if this happens again, and it probably will. And of course I told her if for any reason, now or years from now it doesn't work out, call me, I will take him back.
