Some of you may know me from another forum. Ive known about this site for a long time and I really don't know why I havent joined until now.
My name is Angela and Im living in Texas with my zoo. I have 5 rats, 3 ferrets, 2 beardies and 2 dogs. My roommate has a dog, 2 cats and a ball python. In all honesty I usually lump them all together, his animals feel like as much mine because Im the one taking care of all of them lol.
These are the dogs.
Kat I have had for 10 years now and she will be 12 in February. Complete mystery mutt. I adopted her from the rescue I was volunteering for when I was a kid and she was a mess. Totally unsocialized with people, a scaredy "Kat." There were a few years I dealt with lots of grand mal seizures with her. Shes now fine, aside from arthritis, and a complete social butterfly.
Chop was adopted at 8 weeks from a local Humane Society. He was listed as a Catahoula x Black Mouth Cur on site and Catahoula x Shepherd on Petfinder, however we have been labeling him a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix for the most part. He is merle like a Houla (though since he is sable it has faded out with age) but he is way too big for one and built very lanky. He is 26" and between 65-70lbs.
Athena is my most recent addition. She is an 8 month old Silken Windhound, a breeding/show/performance prospect. I got her as my first sport dog and she has been amazing. Very willing to please, smart, lots of drive. She just earned her UKC championship at her first weekend out. We are training for flyball, shes competing in barn hunt and I have plans for her to do coursing, racing and hopefully agility too. Ideally, I would really love to do a bit of everything with her eventually but I have one problem... Im not rich! Lol
