But how do you know what kind of shape this dog was in when she was taken? There are no pictures to show it, simply just have to take someones word? And I'm not saying ACLR is lying, but there's nothing to prove the dog was neglected or abused, so I have to look at things from both sides. And if the dog was loose in the parking lot, how was it the woman was able to get her from the upstairs?
I really wish I would have taken pictures... I regret that I didn't and if anything like this ever happens again or if I even FIND a dog all on my own that is in bad shape, I will take plenty of pictures. I understand that you have no way of knowing if I was lying or not. I would think that I have had enough posts on this forum for people to kind of figure that I wouldn't make something like this up after all this time and continue to post afterwards.

As for the parking lot/upstairs thing... I explained that the dog was running loose wherever she wanted. When I was leaving, that is when the lady made kissy noises to call her and she went up the stairs (that are on the outside of the building) to get the puppy.

These people never deserve to have another animal in their care, let alone a kid and unfortunately they have one. They just bring in any and every stray animal they find and when they don't want them, they stop feeding them, throw them outside, move away and leave them, dump them, or kill them. It doesn't make any difference to them. If I knew nothing about these people, I probably would have knocked on their door and asked them about the puppy and confirming that it was really theirs, rather then just leaving with her.

good on you for rescuing her. I know the line between rules and morals can be hazy at times. We rescued a little pup and rehomed it, long story but he had been left with no food, water or shelter and able to leave his yard. These people had had so many dogs inthe past get hit by cars becasu ethey were always free to wander.

3 weeks later 2 boys were walking past and asked if we'd seen him. I felt kinda bad, but i know we gave this dog a way better life. and if it seriously took them 3 weeks to even start looking for their dog, then they don't deserve it.

I really don't think what she did was illegal since the dog was loose with no ID. They probably seriously don't care that the dog is gone. They are probably thinking, "oh. She must have gotten run over". Anyway who cares if it's illegal I'm sure you don't always follow speeding limits or report babysitting money as income on your taxes. That's illegal. A lot of stupid stuff is illegal. Saving a life is more important than the law. I'm just not into following the rules for the sake of it when it comes to minor infractions such as this. I think we all do that SOMETIMES.
