Heated blankets and mattress pads?

I'm a ski instructor on top of being a paramedic student.. I live outside for 24 hours every weekend once it gets cold. I dress warmly, I'm fine at work.. I get home and I'm cold down to my bones. I've often turned on a space heater in my bedroom for some hours trying to go back to bed...

I've contemplated heated blankets.. Might help some, though at the moment it's still warm enough I haven't been thinking too hard about it. But.. in looking for heated blankets. I found heated mattress pads. I'm wondering if anyone has one and how they might like it.

LOVE my heated blanket. I bought it on clearance at Target a couple years ago. My favorite part is that it has dual controls, so I can have it turned way up and DH can have his side off, and we're both happy

It was cheap too--I think $40 or so, and well worth it!

I love my heated mattress pad. I know quite a few other people that have them and love them as well. At first I didn't think it sounded appealing--my parents got it for me as a Christmas gift--but I turn it on every night in the colder months. It makes a huge difference and it is really nice crawling into a warm bed. You don't realize how COLD your sheets are until you've tried one of these!

I have both. We use the heated blanket for the sofa in the winter and the mattress pad for our bed. They are seriously worth every penny. My only advice is to turn it down BEFORE you fall asleep. Otherwise you wake up all overheating and sweaty and ick. Lol.

I have just a heated blanket and I love mine also... I agree with Taqroy, turn it down before you fall asleep or you'll wake up in the middle of the night very toasty, LOL. Mine heats up fast and the best part is that you don't have cold spots when you roll over. Right now I have a nice warm fuzzy blanket on top of my comforter and it does a nice job at trapping heat and keeping me warm, but when I roll over there's still a bit of a cold spot. In the dead of winter there's nothing better than the heated blankie. <3

I adore my mattress pad!! I love to "pre heat" my bed before I get in it. I have a very warm comforter on my bed, so now I am warm from the bottom up!

I liked my heated blanket better than my heated mattress pad... What I don't like about the mattress pad is that you can feel the wires when laying on top of it unless you put an additional blanket between it and the sheet.
