Otherwise known as I'm bored...

I woke up Tuesday morning with Bell's Palsy which is basically a temporary paralysis of the facial muscles on one side of my face. There's nothing to do but wait it out. A few weeks, a few months..... Who knows? I'm drinking Atkins meal replacement drinks because I can't chew anything. I can't blink so I have to wear an eye patch. It was getting really frustrating so I thought I would do something to laugh about it even though I can only laugh on one side of my face.

Can you see my eye twitching?

Bet none of you can do this!

Better than Botox? (This is me raising both eyebrows)

:rofl1:What can I do but laugh about it?

Good for you for keeping a sense of humour about it. Prays it goes quickly. Sorry you have to put up with this. Does it hurt? I hope not.

Thanks, it doesn't hurt at all.. It's sort of like going to the dentist and getting numbed up for a root canal but it stretches from under my chin to my forehead. I just keeping expecting to be able to move those muscles and I can't.

A sense of humor sure can make nearly anything more bearable :) ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) and back pats to you for yours!

When the myasthenia wants to act up again, I sometimes get eye-twitches. Annoying, aren't they? If they go on too long they tend to give me motion nausea :rofl1:

Yes, your sense of humor is great !!! One of out local TV newsmen had this a few years ago . He was a good sport about it and it slowly went away .

My best friend had Bell's Palsy about two years ago. What a scary thing to wake up to! Her recovery was complete and relatively quick. Her biggest complaint was not being able to wear her contacts for a long time!

I'm glad you can laugh about it - like you said, what else is there to do?
