Maggie's kind of bitten me before. She stole a bone from Reecie, and she snapped at me when I reached around to try to grab it. She has VERY good bite inhibition though, because it didn't even leave a mark of any kind.

Now I've been MAULED by my grandmother's old cat before. Like, I'm talking MAULED. You could barely see my face through all the scratch marks :yikes:

What about you?

I have been bit by a GSD & a Malinois, both times on my face. Luckily, the GSD got my ear and drew blood, but no major damage; same with the Mal, got my cheek. Both were when I was around.. 12 or 13. One was a friends dog, one was my Aunt's. I still have a bit of an aversion to pointy earred dogs LOL.

Cats, definitely. Oh and horses.. had one launch out of his stall, grab me by my throat/collar bone area and throw me across the barn, still have scars from that, and I broke my wrist on the landing.

Chloe play bites when we wrestle with her, but VERY softly, and Violet was really mouthy as a puppy (occasionally if she gets really excited she'll still jump up and bite my hair or chin x_x). But otherwise, no I've not been bitten by any of my current dogs.

I HAVE been attacked by a past dog, though. We had a Golden Retriever that mauled me. I was sitting outside playing with Misty, our husky, and when I reached back to pet my Golden, Cubby, he randomly snapped, and bit me HARD in the head. I was bleeding (I still remember how the warm blood felt running down my face - scarred me for life...) and screaming, and I couldn't get the gate open to go inside, so I was freaking out thinking the dog was going to kill me, so my mom finally heard me and let me out. She flipped out and called my dad. My dad said my story sounded "made up" and that I must've tried to touch him while he was eating or something. A couple weeks later he WITNESSED him snap at me (this time he went for my throat) so we ended up taking him to the vet (who told us he should be put down), and a golden retriever rescue (who told us the same thing). We did all we could to help him, but the last place we took him (I think another vet) did a temperament test on him, and told us that he was so aggressive that it wasn't actually legal for them to let us take him back, because he could attack and kill a child, and eventually as he gained confidence, an adult. So we had him put down. :(

That's the only time in my life that I've been aggressively bitten by a dog though, and I've been around hundreds, maybe thousands of them.

I've been bitten a few times, never any serious damage.

Milo bit me while going after another dog (I put my arm in front of him to block him), and I've been bitten by a toy fox terrier, clumber spaniel, and cavalier king charles (the spaniels during grooming, the toy fox terrier in day care). The fox terrier was the only one that drew blood, the others left nice bruises.

I've been bitten breaking up a dog fight between two Doberman boys. Not seriously, though. Just a puncture next to my thumb, another smaller puncture and tons of bruising, but I didn't require stitches or anything. Their scruffs were the only easily accessible areas for me to grab in the moment, and when I reached for the one dog, the other dog grabbed me in the process in an attempt to get to the other dog (but my hand blocked him).

Working as a dog bather in a grooming shop, I was nearly bitten quite a few times. The dogs would either try to bite the dryer and almost get my hand, or they were just real jerks about the whole process and tried to bite me periodically the whole time. But I never did get bitten, thankfully.

When I was little I was snapped at by a grouchy little dog, but it wasn't really a bite. He put his mouth on me, but left nothing behind.

Twice. Both Pekes. Got me when I wasn't looking.

Doberman, almost. He was with one of the Pekes and ran down the hill -- with his owners watching and laughing -- to where I was walking on the sidewalk. I was PISSED and chased him back up the hill part of the way, yelling at his owners, lol.

I've been grazed a few times when I put my hand where it shouldn't be, but only bitten twice:

- I was 12ish and a yorkie mix decided my thigh looked tasty. Left a palm size black bruise. Turns out I looked like a little girl who teased him from the other side of his invisible fence. :\

- Last year I saw a potential client and was bitten when the client let the leash out too far for her dog and he felt cornered, so he lunged and got my ankle. No blood, just scrapes that lasted about a week. I referred them to a vet behaviorist and haven't heard anything since.

Once by our old GSD foster when I was trimming some beef cheeks and she mistook my blood soaked hand for a hunk of meat she could snatch. It broke the skin, she was mortified.

Another by a food aggressive collie (not belonging to anyone on Chaz or known by any Chazzers!). She attacked another dog and redirected on me when I pulled her off. To her credit, she did not break my skin.

Been bit by a lot of other animals too though. Horses (that, hands down, was the most scary and painful bite EVER!), Chameleons, iguanas, various kinds of snakes (large pythons are the worst), cats, chinchillas. One time my brother's scorpion pinched me with her little lobster claw. Her name was Sassy. :rofl1:

I got grazed breaking up a fight between Tipper and Mu about two months ago. Totally my fault - I stuck my hand right in between them and managed to put it in the exact spot Mu was aiming her mouth. And I got bit while dosing my sister's dog with peroxide during the incredibly traumatizing "Let's all eat a bottle of Rimadyl" event a couple years ago.

I've never been bitten intentionally (except by cats lol).

ETA: Tipper does what I call tooth bashing when she's too wound up. If you do something that she deems very very exciting she'll make this crazy strangled sound and whack you with her teeth. I don't know what exactly its an attempt to do but we've seen a serious decline in that behavior since I started working on her self control. So I'm not too worried about it.

I'm a groomer, so quite a few times, but none were very bad. Only had the skin brake a few times.

Rosey got me when she was younger, she was way too excited about getting treats (she now has a good "nicely" down). I think the worst though, was when I was mimicking my mom, not thinking that I was a good bit shorter than her, put a milkbone in my mouth and told Rosey to get it. She pushed it down my throat, it really hurt XD

Renegade has bitten me, on multiple occassions. The worst, was when the vet was giving him a needle, and I was dumb and put my hand there. Luckily, he realized it was my hand and did not REALLY bite, or else I would have lost a good chunk of my palm.

Never been bitten by other peoples dogs... I have always ran up to dogs who were supposedly HA and never got bitten :p The owners were always amazed LOL

ETA: I have also been bitten by a horse who is out to kill me, and a few calves.

A few times. Only by my own dogs and they only drew blood three times. Once was when Fudge was a puppy and his bite inhibition wasn't as good as it is now, he was jumping for bubbles and nailed my hand. Twice was Scamp. Once because he'd got his foot caught in a random piece of metal on the beach which would have killed him if it had been a little bit sharper, I picked him up to take him home (he was screaming in pain) and he turned around and bit me. Another was when I picked him up to avoid the neighbours huskies and he was so focused on attacking them that he turned on me.

ETA: I got bit by a horse on my stomach and that was hands down far more painful than any dog bite.

Nasty bite on my face as a child from a Dalmatian.

Docket has displaced a couple times when being leash reactive, but he did no harm, just snapped at my pants.

I was nailed once at the shelter by a Shepard mix who decided to do a sneak attack on my retreating leg.

Then there was the lab mix at daycare who flew for my face while I was reaching for her collar. To this day it's a mystery, because we knew eachother, I had taken her collar many times in the past, and there was absolutely no warning signs before the bite. Luckily I got a hand up and she bit that instead.

Gunner bit me last yr. We were playing ball and he jumped for the ball and grabbed my thumb instead, thankfully didn't need stitches lol! Got bit by a dalmatian yrs ago, didn't break skin.

Only one and a half times--my dad's old GSD Cory bit me. I was 12, he was 14, and I surprised him by walking up behind him. He spun, and clipped my shoulder. There was a blood blister and a lot of bruising. He was extremely upset when he realized what had happened. He passed away only a few months later. :(

The second time we had found two lab puppies in the street, and they were in my parent's backyard. His GSD was in the side yard, separated by a fence with four inch spacing. One of the puppies went up to say hi, and the GSD grabbed him by the ear and tried to pull him through. I ended up with slices on each finger from prying her mouth open. The puppy was unharmed though, and I didn't require stitches.

My worst dog related injury wasn't a bite, it was a rope burn. I'll have that scar for the rest of my life.

who hasn't? i've mostly been tagged by curs while wading into a catch, none of it serious though. i have also been tagged by several german sheperds & belgian Mals. and one bulldog w/a brain tumor. a couple were little messy looking but not really bad.

Got bit on the wrist through a thick glove by a Golden breaking up a fight. Not my dog. Gave me a couple of nice punctures.

Other than that bitten by ferrets and my conure. But the worst was my old ferret Spike. I squeaked a toy and he bit in-between my thumb and pointer finger so hard. I couldn't get him off, needed a break stick for a ferret. Ended up having to go into the kitchen and poor water over his head until he couldn't breath and let go.

-Twice through the back of the hand, once splitting my right hand and requiring inside and outside stitches. I have also been dog bitten in the bicep, and once in the back of my calf, also through the thumbnail.
My hand was horridly torn up by a cat that was fighting with another cat.
I have been bitten by an anaconda, and an oriental whip snake. A couple rats, and I had one hermit crab bring me to my knees and confess unknown crimes by pinching and not releasing the pad of my forth finger.
