My 7 year old stepson is over for the week, until friday. Last night I started cleaning for thanksgiving and I'm trying to vaccum before I make his bed. He could tell I was having a little trouble so he come out from getting his pj's on and comes up to me and goes "do you want me to vaccum and you can mop the floor? That way it'll be easier for you.":yikes:

I have never heard him be so sweet and helpful like that. As much as I wanted to say "sure, here ya go." I told him he didn't have to because I had to vaccum before I mopped anyways so he could color if he wanted until I got his bed ready. So he colored me, mark, emily and kenny all our own pictures and even wrote our names and his name on them. I have mine over my computer so I can look at it while I type.

Kids can be so sweet! Either that or he saw the black friday ads and is looking for "sweet kid points"

I try to make the best of his time here. Usually it's just a day but we picked him up sunday and have him until friday morning so I had lots of time to spend with him. We have been doing a lot of fun projects that he's wanted to do. Although yesterday we sat for an hour and played weeble wars (we took Emily's weebles and spun them into each other to see who could knock the other person's weeble off the table first).

I think he just loves being here with Mark he always talks about him when Mark's at work. He wants to know when he's coming home, if I can call him so he can talk to him, he talks all about the picture he's coloring for his daddy and says he's going to give it to him when he comes home. Mark wishes he could have the week off but atleast he's able to spend time with him before he goes to work and all day tomorrow and friday morning before he has to go home.

My stepsons so excited about all the food I'm making (and he's not even sure he likes most of it but he said he'd try everything). He wants to get up tomorrow morning to help me but I told him he helped with the cupcakes so tomorrow he can help his dad set up.
