I am looking for a(nother) harness for my 92 lb Bouvier. I own 5 harnesses, and don't love any of them. I feel like they all ride up too close to his armpits. The other issue is that I want a front clip option, but I don't want it to be a "no pull" harness that restricts movement. He is usually great on a leash, but I want to know I have more control if he does decide to chase something and given his size and strength, the front attach is perfect for this.

We have a couple no pull harnesses that I hate and might as well give away, a Sure Fit Harness (it's pretty good, but not great and no front clip option), a Ruffwear harness (also pretty good, but rides up into his armpits and looks ridiculously undersized on him), and another couple random nylon harnesses that I can't remember the name of.

I've looked into the Balance Harness, but it's apparently discontinued.

Ideas? I need a big harness for a big dog, and a front clip option.

Have you tried Premier/Pet Safe's Sure Fit harness? I love them. There is a ring on the front that I've used to clip a leash to.

I've heard that people find the freedom no pull harness less restrictive than others (like the easy walk).

The Balance Harness was discontinued? The site still seems to be and running, and the Facebook was updated in mid-February. Where did you hear it was discontinued?

Have you looked at Alpine Outfitters? They sell the Urban Trail harness with the option of a D ring in the front for hard pullers. They will make a custom size harness for you, in whatever color you'd like, along with reflective strips. You can get the standard or an adjustable harness (adjusts around the neck and torso), if you're not sure about your measurements. I bought 2 of the adjustable Urban Trail harnesses and I'm pretty happy with them.

I have the Surefit - the chest piece isn't quite long enough, and I don't want to attach to the o-ring in the front as I feel it would be very uncomfortable for Louis - the leash clip would be pressing into his breastbone, kwim?

I've been looking at the Urban Trail harness - that's definitely in the running. I think it might be what I'm looking for.

The Balance Harness website itself says it is discontinued.

Oh, interesting, it doesn't show up on the mobile version. At any rate it says the company will no longer be making them as of the 21st so you may still be able to order one.

Lori says:

"Nope, not discontinued, just pausing to change to another manufacturer. Do you mind telling me where you heard that we were discontinuing? Anyway, I'm currently looking to work with another manufacturer and will let you know when we are up and running again. In the meantime, you can order retail via cleanrun.com and clickertraining.com."
