Everyone keeps commenting on how lonely I must be. What they don't seem to understand is I haven't been single ever. I've had a dog at my side for as long as I can remember. This year I have 3! What more could a girl want?

This has been on my mind. I haven't been single in a while, but even when I was single I never really felt this way.

Do people really do this to you single guys? As in feeling pity for you because you are single? That is so stupid. Just curious.
I imagine it being the same not having children. I get pity looks and comments because I don't have children.

I've never noticed any of my friends feeling "pity" for me because I'm single. Actually, they are probably jealous of me at times :p.

But I don't know what its like to NOT be single. :(

OMG if I didn't like you I would edit that post and make the Hoff GO AWAY FOREVER.

Edit: I couldn't take it. I'm sorry. My eyes were bleeding and I lost control.
Spoil sport - I never got to see it. :(

As for the single thing good GOD I am beginning to sympathise with Bridget Jones.

A recent conversation with a married friend of mine (they're ALLLLLLL getting married or popping sprogs right now) went something like this:

them: So how is uni??
me: Good ta
them: we just sold our house
me: fun
them: yeah this adult stuff is so boring
me: are you suggesting I am not an adult?
them: oh no
them: *INEVITABLE QUESTION ALERT* so - how is your love live?
Me: it's excellent thanks
them: ooooh really do tell?!!!
me: tell what?
them: you have a new fella?
me: no
them: oh...... are you having lots of sex?
me: noo - why do you think that?
them: you said your love life was excellent
me: so it should be crappy and miserable because I am single??

Remember the dinner party scene.......... well... that's currently the stage I am at in life.. a singleton surrounded by newly weds and newborn parents........

They don't half do my head right in!!!!!

I never understood why some people pity singles. If you're happy being single, what the heck is there to pity? Some people have way too much time on their hands.

And I wasn't sure if I should post this on the singles thread, but decided to do it anyway. :D

I wasn't feeling well yesterday. Hubby and I decided not to go out, cook or anything. We'd just get take out. I just curled up in bed and fell asleep. And guess what Hubby brought me? A boquet of a dozen pink roses, a take-out pizza and an ENTIRE chocolate cheesecake! SQUEEE!

Really? you guys have friends that judge you because you aren't married or coupled up?

I had no idea that being single was a big deal.

In fact, I got more flack from single people about me being "tied down" than I ever got from married people about being single lol

MMMMM

I could really go for Pizza and chocolate cheesecake. any left overs? lol

LOL totally unrelated but I have a funny story about cheesecake.

When our friends had their baby in November their neighbours stopped by about 5 minutes after they got home from the hospital (lol they could have waited to let the get settled lol) and came to the door with a cheesecake. So her husband answered the door and thanked them for stopping by but that they weren't quite ready for visitors just yet as they were very tired and just got home. So he took the cheesecake and they went on with their day... LOL the next day the neighbor knocks on the door and asks for their cheesecake back hahaha it wasn't intended for just them.. the neighbours wanted to share it. LOL So of course our friends were quite embarrassed... but I would have thought the same as them. When you have a baby and someone comes to your door with food it's usually to give you a break from having ot make anything... I was kind of shocked she came and asked for it back LOL

Ok maybe not that funny... had to be there haha

It's the constant....

"so how is your love life" question, followed by simpering looks and expectant glances...

I'd love to meet someone, but even if I did, there are some people I probably wouldn't tell even if I did just out of stubborness now :D
