I know this is probably a stupid question, but I haven't had a puppy in 15 years. My chow pup is a bit off, he's just around 5 months. He spent the night at my parents and they said he barked the entire night, which is unusual. I asked if they were sure he had been out [as that's really the only time he's barks in crate] and they said they were sure he had everything taken care of. Ok so I got him back this morning and he's just 'off.' He doesn't seem sick, just sluggish. His appetite seems just fine.

Usually he plays a bit and is more alert/active but he's just been snoozing all day. Usually he poos every time I take him out too, and he's only pooed once today [if that means anything]. If I take him out or go to another room, he's right up and with me..so seems fine there. I was just wondering if maybe he was going through a growth spurt and that would be the reason for his lack of energy? Or should I be more concerned? If a growth spurt, is there anything I can do to make it a bit easier for him?

I'd say if he was up barking all night, then that is probably why he was tired the followed day. It could be that being in a new place overnight was stressful as well, and that could also have tired him out.

Thanks you are probably right. He's been at parents several times, he usually doesn't have any issues. Mom thinks it was because he just wanted back out, but I'm not totally convinced he just didn't have to potty or something.
