Greetings from Sydney from me, my wife Julia, Toorak (a 14-year-old wirehaired fox terrier we brought from London) and Fille, his three-month-old daughter, produced surprising by a late union with another purebred fox terrier he met in Mulgoa, up near the Blue Mountains! She came to live here two days ago, and they get on very well , except that Toorak shows signs of becoming a geriatric incestuous paedophile (any suggestions welcome - the vet says 'get her de-sexed', but we'd rather like to breed from her, later). News from other wiry fans very welcome! - Derek.

My suggestion for your doggy problem is...get them both de-sexed. Leave the breeding to the reputable breeders who dedicate their lives to their dogs and, most importantly, the improvement of their breeds.

Hi, Cass. But that's the thing - the very professional breeder we 'ent' Toorak to is very easger for another attempt, as he is purely English bred, and it will be a very welcome addition to the gene pool here in Australia, where the breed is beginning to be somewhat in-bred. But you may be right - it may be the only solution. Also, wouldn't the shock of such an operation be considerable in a 14-year-old? But the vet will no doubt advis. Thanks for your interest . . .
