Today Kat was killed instantly at our farm. I am beyond devastated.

My perfect puppy is gone.

My problem, my loud, my puppy is gone.

Why would the universe give me such a perfect companion, such an awesome little being, only to take it away so swiftly. One moment she is running around chasing Sport, and sitting with us on the porch, the next minute she is gone.

Its not fair, I want my puppy back. I want to hold her and tell her how much I loved her, to play tug, to snuggle her at night, to take her to the go swim, and to play agility...

Please everyone, I know this is a bit cliché, but hug your dogs, life can end in a moment.

I loved you so very much
I am so very sorry to hear this! It hurts I know! I really don't know what else to say. I'm just really sorry!:(

I can't come up with anything that will adequately express how sorry I am. Kat was such a fun little girl...

Kerri thanks everyone for their sweet kind posts. The thoughts are much appreciated, by both of us.

I took her this afternoon to the vet for cremation. It still seems unreal. People have been wonderful, online and on the phone.

Thanks again, Kerri is reading, but it drained for the night.

I thought it was a joke, too, I skipped over this thread when I came on earlier. When I read the first line I felt like I'd been kicked in the chest. I've never even had the pleasure of meeting Kat (or Kerri), but I remember the night she was born like it was yesterday, and how much promise she's shown growing up since then.

I'll give all my furkids teary hugs tonight and think of Kat.

I read the first post over and over and I absolutely cannot believe it. :(

I am so, so sorry, Kerri. If there's anything I can do... please say so.

I have Finn in my lap and I don't want to let him go.

Of course it happened on a day when we're doing a concrete pour, a 2 hour drive away, and it wasn't going well, so I couldn't even really break away to call Kerri or Laura until a couple hours after getting the news, and then only for a few minutes before the next load of concrete showed up.

Kat was an aggravating little fart, but in an endearing way....the sort of critter that you'd want to yell at, but smile while doing so because of her antics. I'm in the midst of some long work hours that I really can't avoid, and they also include long travel times, thankfully I have a co-worker riding shotgun the next couple days which will at least allow for some chat instead of quiet times to think.

Gonna miss the little sh!t.
