Amberdyan had suggested to reward the dog with peanut butter. This is what my friend tried to ask about it: In what kind of container would you put the peanut butter or something similar? How would you feed it if you should wear gloves/mittens?
My suggestion would be to leave it in the original jar, and use a long wooden spoon or spatula (whatever you or your friend have in the kitchen). That way, if you could unscrew the lid with mittens/gloves on, you wouldn't have to take your gloves off at all. Just have the spoon dipped in the peanut butter, and then click-treat, one or two licks would be all I would allow, and then take the spoon back away. I've seen videos on YouTube where people have used peanut butter this way as a reward for targeting, I believe.

Or, you could always use a toy!

Why won't peanut butter on a spoon work?
My friend says that she would rather buy treats from stores that are nearby. She can look into those other suggestions put in this thread.

She knows that one can use a toy as a reward. The idea of this thread was to discuss about how to reward the dog with edible rewards. She didn't say that she couldn't use peanut butter. She rather asked something and this is what s/he answered:

They sell peanut butter only in big glas jars here but my friend can try to find suitable (and smaller) containers where to put it. She just tried if Lotta liked it and she did eat it. (My friend says that Lotta is sometimes a little bit picky) My friend can see if there is also something else in addition to peanut butter that can be fed with a spoon. :)

Of course also you others can discuss about this subject in this thread because this doesn't need to be only for us. ;)

Could try pate or meat paste if she's picky! Could he easier to squeeze from a tube too. Or scrape into something you can just squeeze out yourself.

My friend meant that Lotta did eat that peanut butter when she tried it. We also told that my friend could see if there was also something else in addition to peanut butter that could be fed with a spoon. So, she could try that.

That's good :) im glad Lotta likes it. I don't think I've met a dog yet who doesn't like peanut butter. My friends dog is a picky eater, and I feel like he's harder to train because of it lol.

I don't know if this has a ready been sugguested, but do they have cheese whiz in Finland? Lol. Velveeta cheese? Canned meats?

I just thought of something, what about having a syringe and fill it with meat paste or patee, you can click/treat, squeeze a little out and she can lick it off?

Also search on Amazon for like those treat tubes and stuff, I think Amazon ships to Finland, dont they?

Baby food

Baby food in a small jar could be another idea. Definitely use a marker to buy time between acknowledging the correct behavior and delivering the reward. Throw the food?

I applaud Chaz'ers. You guys have been incredibly patient through this thread.

Like another poster, I have been using the gloves with smartphone or tech fingertips. I don't own a smartphone :D. They are the only gloves that can open a slippery plastic poop bag.

Putting two ideas here together, what about meat flavored baby food in a big feeding syringe? Wet dog food would work too, but the baby food would come out easier depending on the syringe. You could even have several syringes already loaded with food - in a bag -inside of your pocket so it's easier.

My friend has mostly told in this thread what one can or can't do during winter because it may be cold outside. She wasn't talking only about herself. Like my friend has tried to explain, those kind of gloves may be too thin in winter.

My friend hasn't seen canned cheese in stores. It's also so that Lotta doesn't like cheese so much although she often eats it. At least she can use peanut butter and try to find also something else what Lotta likes about.

My friend does use a clicker.

My friend sometimes tried a syringe because of something else. She managed to teach Lotta to take it into her mouth with a clicker. She had seen a video of it. However, my friend said that when she was supposed to squirt something into Lotta's mouth, it started to feel like she wouldn't have enough hands for it. :rofl1:
