How bad is it to use Lush shampoo but Herbal Essenses conditioner? Am I messing up the whole thing by using "regular" conditioner? The Lush conditioner was leaving my hair sticky and it has this weird residue. Someone on here was saying it was product build up and to use a clarifying shampoo a couple times and I'd be good. Well I figured til I get a clarifying shampoo, I would go back to the conditioner I was using. Well my hair feels and looks WAY better using Lush as a shampoo and Herbal Essenses as a conditioner. I still want to get the clarifying shampoo and use the Lush conditioner to see how my hair does with it, but I am wondering for the future, if I don't want to spend the money on buying Lush shampoo AND conditioner, can I used "normal" conditioner? Or is that bad?
I would do an ACV rinse to get rid of buildup and then grab some Suave Naturals conditioner. :)

ETA! Forgot to post what I came here for. Lol. I finally broke down and decided to try the MoonCup. It shipped today. Also, I went a week and a half without washing my hair and it didn't really even need it but I did a CO anyways. Still in a crappy transition to natural deodorant.

Do what works for your head. That's honestly my advice.

I have THICK CURLY hair, so.. the natural no-sulfate kind of no-poo system works for me. It's hard to imagine it also working for someone with thin hair without some tweaks (or one hell of a gross phase)

It's dead stuff growing out of your scalp, having pretty hair that smells good makes you happy so buy products that work. As long as you aren't doing anything radical (dye jobs, heat tools when wet, harsh shampoos every day), chances are, your hair will be healthy and you will still benefit to switching to a more natural shampoo.

I still use a bit of conditioner with silicone to detangle and shampoo with some perfume when my hair is gross...

I don't have manic panic, but I do have the pigment from a case of Splat. Will this Jack up my henna hair if I soak some in to intensify the red?

The bold is kind of what I've been thinking. Everyone is different, and at the moment, mine is doing what I want it to! The lush shampoo keeps my hair oil free and keeps me from having to wash it daily, and the Herbal Essenses conditioner makes the rest of my hair (I only put it on the ends-from my ears down) super soft and healthy feeling/looking. So I'm happy with it! :)

Henna and manic panic from now on, but this is just manic panic. Waiting on shipping for the henna. No more chemicals, though. Growing it out strong, long, and healthy.

Also, I might be addicted to oils. Wash my face with coconut oil, run argan oil in my hair after it is washed and before it is washed I use olive oil. Love coconut oil in a bath. Olive oil to take off my make up...

OIL ALL THE THINGS.

So Implanon is making me super hormonal this week. I mean, all of it. I feel gross, I think I stink after a few hours, my face is completely broken out around my jawline, I think everything stinks, I crave food, I crave no food, I am hungry but not really, hot flashes, heavy sweating, ALL OF IT.

I went a bit dramatic and doused myself in Buddy Wash. Green tea and bergamot.

I would just like to say I am the cleanest, softest, most comfortable I have been in a while. I did run argan oil in my hair and use a bit of lotion, but that is normal for me. And still. So clean and soft.

So washing with dog shampoo may have been dramatic. But it worked. I am...mildly embarrassed.

I've been really tempted to try a cup. I like everything I read, I just haven't been able to pick a brand. Can you let me know how you like the mooncup?

Now that my hair is getting super close to waist, I've been wearing it up a lot for summer. I really like Dutch braids, but my second go-to updo is a bun held by a jeterfork. I have 3 other types of forks but the jeterfork is the easiest and just comfortable for me - it's by far my favorite! I jhahe 3 in total (I had 4 but bailey chewed my black and white ebony :( ) i just got a 3 prong carribian rosewood for my "birthday"... Love it!!

Just wanted to share :)

ETA: add me to the, I've used buddy wash in a bind category LOL

This is sort of a vent, but it fits in more here....

I really wish I had been more into makeup when I was younger. I love playing and experimenting with it now, bright colors, bold eyes, etc BUT....I am really getting too old to do it :/

I have a whole drawer in my dresser of clothes that fall into this category.

I don't live this life, why did I buy these things?

Reviving this thread!

My addictions to oils has moved on to Coconut Oil. I am currently washing my face with it, because I was at my wits end on what to do with my acne. I have tried everything on the aisle, and nothing was helping. I even got Severe Acne treatment. Nope. Nothing worked and it was just getting progressively worse and worse.

So now I am taking a handful of coconut oil and massaging my face with it for a minute or two, running really hot, hot water, and steaming my face with a rag for another minute or two. Then wiping the excess oil off my face.

And just like that, within a week, I had no more breakouts. Now two weeks, and my face is completely clearing up, scars are fading, and no new breakouts. Clogged pore problem is gone. It's like a friggin miracle.

On the other hand, my lips are currently SO DRY from licking them constantly from the teeth clenching that I have now also tried 90% of the lip balm aisle(including burts bees, EOS, yes to -, etc) and my coconut oil AND bag balm. Nothing is working.

Win some, lose some.

^^ THIS is what I have been telling people for years! Oil works. There is an oil out there for everyone's skin I swear.

Glad it's working for you :)

Wish I had some sort of insight on the lip issue, but aside form exfoliating, I got nothing. Same problem.
