Nickname/Preferred name: We'll just go with "GoingNowhere" on here, not that anyone calls me that in real life!
Occupation: graduate assistant academic advisor and graduate student in higher education administration
Age: 24
About your dog(s): Boo is a family dog and lives with my parents, but because we got her when I was still living at home, I consider her mine. I'm too busy and broke right now to have a dog of my own, but Boo serves as a great stand in. She's an 11 year old chow mix with a quirky, but calm personality and a love of her people.
Interests: dogs, hiking, photography, artsy crafty little projects, volunteering, education, horseback riding, playing around with cooking, spending time with my family, boyfriend, and friends.
Favorite music: country music mostly. I'm currently really liking "Break up in a Small Town"
Favorite book: I don't know. I enjoy a good novel, but also enjoy reading books about social psychology and non-fiction books about animal cognition that are written for a popular audience.
Favorite quote: "It's not what you take when you leave this world behind you. It's what you leave behind you when you go." I also like the poem:
"I walked a mile with Pleasure;
She chatted all the way;
But left me none the wiser
For all she had to say.
I walked a mile with Sorrow,
And ne’er a word said she;
But, oh! The things I learned from her,
When sorrow walked with me."
Random fact: I have a little blog called the "The Hiking Hokie" so I can keep track of which hikes I've done.
And of course pictures!
Then and now with the horse I used to lease.
