I am due for an upgrade and while I like my iPhone (I have the iPhone 4) but I kind of miss the level of custom ability that comes with andriod, but the first andriod I had (back in like ... 2009 xD ) and it was slow and glitchy ... What I want to know before I am stuck with one for two years is has andriod IOS improved at all?

No, that's not how I meant that lol. I hate it, probably because I had an iPhone first. But from friends that still use it say it is much improved. Fwiw I have tried to like it, and it was ok for work...as long as I still had my iPhone for personal use, I wouldn't use just android, but that's me, I didn't mean to make it seem like you should hate it lol. Just meant that even though I do hate it, I can see the improvements.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my samsung galaxy s4 mini. It has absolutly no glitches. none. In the 5 months I've had this phone it has not once done something that would make me want to throw it on the ground.

Android problems seem to vary by the phone. My old phone had the same Android software as my new one, and it was glitchy all the time. The phone was pretty crappy though so that had alot to do with it. :)

Oh I see what you mean now lol. The first andriod phone I had was a phone called a backflip. But I type a lot on my phone using the touch screen and I think the bigger screen would be cool.

S4 all the way. I have an S3 and it's the best phone ever. I'm waiting til April to get the S5 when it comes out.

Literally every friend I have that has an iPhone hates it LOL. I don't know how anyone uses them either.. the screens are so tiny! I have everything else Apple (iMac, iPad, iPod), but cannot stand their phones, go figure.

Josh just got an S3 and is absolutely in love with it.

I've known him for just over 3 years, and this is his 5th phone since I met him (luckily only 1 of those was totally out of commission before he got a new one...so he's not *that* irresponsible , standard flip, blackberry, LG android, windows phone)

But this is the only phone he's never complained about. He's had at least 1 issue with all of his phones in the past. But this S3 apparently is just great.
So I would assume the S4 is likely better than that :)

Awesome, I have read a bunch of positive reviews about them too online. The one I am most excited to hear is that everyone says that if you spend a lot of time browsing on your phone and typing on it (like I do) then the galaxy is a good choice.

I have an S4. LOVE it. So much. No regrets going with the phone.

(I also hate Iphones, so they weren't even a contender. I was choosing between the HTC One and the Samsung S4.)

The camera was better on my iPhone 4s, the battery life is better on my Galaxy s4. Otherwise they are more or less the same to me, functionally.

I love my S4, although I'm not too fond of the camera inside. It makes very grainy pictures. I got gorgeous shots outside though.

When I had the S3 I loved it, and was going to upgrade to the S4 but chose the Nokia Lumia 1520 instead (love my 6" screen that I can read books on lol) but I do have to say I love how easy the S3 and S4 are setup, they are really easy to learn IMO.

Also, I have been having problems with my phone dropping signal (in all areas, even in a city). Like right now it has three bars (but his is oh in the middle of no where) but sometimes when I try to call, it will drop to one bar and the person I am trying to call can't hear me and the phone drops the call ... Super annoying but I dont know if that is the phones fault or the companies.

I have the S3. It's been the only phone I've kept through the actual two year contract on the phone :p Now I'm waiting for the S5 to come out, lol.

The only thing I wish the S5 had was more RAM. The S3 has the same amount of RAM. They could have upgraded the S4 + S5 to 4Gigs of RAM easily.

(I totally use the crap out of my RAM though, so that may or may not be an issue for you.)
