Has anyone fed the Fresh Pet foods that you can get in the fridge at Petsmart? I will be adding a kitten within the next two weeks, and I want to raw feed her. However, the breeder has her on kibble, and I want to make her transition as easy as possible, especially since she'll be joining a new home.

I'm looking at buying a bag of the Vital to get her used to the idea, then making the switch for her. Or should I just go straight to a pre-made raw?

I have fed the rolls of Fresh Pet before, but not by itself. It was with kibble. To a dog.

That said, I don't think it is necessary to make the transition.

I would go straight to pre-made! Even though she's a kitten, cats have such a tendency to get "stuck" on foods. Also, most cats don't seem to have much digestive upset issues when switching to raw. If you want to wait to transition, I would just keep her on kibble for like her first week there.

Also...this thread is useless without pictures.

I have fed the fresh pet select chicken recipe to my cats. I never fed it continuously, they'd get a meal of it, then get canned food the next meal. But they loved it, always got excited about it (almost as excited as kibble, they loved kibble), and always ate every bite. Willlie did puke it up on occasion but he did that with kibble too because he eats it too fast (he has even choked on kibble before).

That said I agree, if you want her on raw give it a try right off the bat or keep her on her current food and then switch straight to raw later. Cats do get stuck on foods so if she loves the fresh pet it might just make it harder to get her to eat something else.
