Anybody know if steam cleaning your carpet will get rid of fleas? I can't imagine fleas and their eggs surviving a steam cleaning.... not the heat alone but with the chemicals as well?

I think they live through everything but flea chamicals. I know we had a flea problem and I steam clean all the time and nothing helped till we sprayed the chemicals.

Until I treated the dogs once a month , nothing helped but major chemicals which I hated to use !! I know a lot of people don't like to use K9 Advantix etc , but believe me it's easier and safer than the flea dips, powders ,sprays and shampoos I used to have to use.

Interesting to know... hmm..

What do you all recommend for my carpets and couches inside? I'v heard of many suggestions but im not sure which is the best overall? Does that D-EARTH stuff work outside only? Does it kill eggs only or both live and eggs? What about the powder stuff?

Thanks!

I used bengal spray for carpets. Then steam cleaned after a few days. But, I also got the frontline on the dogs at the same time. No more fleas.
