I've used Frontline Plus back in NY, CT and now in TN. It's always worked great.

Frontline doesn't work here in CA. I am planning on trying NextGard soon.

Frontline Plus and Parastar Plus are the two I've personally used before. I've known people who use Advantix or Advantage with no issues.

Just stay away from things that are super cheap on grocery store shelves (Hartz, for example) and you should be fine.

Frontline Plus stopped working for us a few years ago BUT I'm going to try it again this year just for the heck of it. It's cheaper than k9 Advantix, which is the only thing that worked for us the last few years.

Try to avoid Hartz products, and my step-mom found this thing at Sam's Club yesterday that she almost bought until I read tons of horrifying reviews. So yeah the main ones that are trustworthy as far as effective and safe are the Frontline and Advantix.

I don't like topicals. I had great success with Preventic collars last year in TN and this year (in GA), I'm going to try Bug Off Garlic

I just spray them with diluted apple cider vinegar.

if I used chemical preventives I'd probably try Nexgard.

LOVING the Nexgard. I had been wishing for an oral flea and tick preventative for ages and somebody finally came through.

I've always used Frontline with good success.

I'm trying Nexgard this year simply because I don't have to construct an Excel spreadsheet to coordinate putting it on between swimming and bath days. :p
