Long Storey short This rescue was posted with the person who sold it on my board the 11 year old Molosser Talk. It resulted in the breeder spamming my board with over 100 posts and alias. And creating a spoof board to call me "fat". Cause I allowed the rescue posts to go thru.

Please help find this dog a new home...
Not many people do fila rescue and to attack a rescue person and me a board own ( non fila) to hide where a dog came from.

Is just wrong so please help find a new home for this guy..
I will chip in for transport costs but dont think I have enough knowledge to transport in any form a Fila..

i know here no matter what happens you guys will help find this dog a home.

It has been lost in the trolls that a dog needs rescue. This post will stay on top of the board until he finds a home.
Jaime is creating her own webpage to deal with molosser rescues.

The first whiff I got of a Fila in Colorado needing placement came back in early August. The owner had sent out an email to several rescue groups that he hoped might have Fila experience. Operation K9 Rescue members were some of the first to hear about Leroy and they fwd emails to me.

As many of you recall in August I had three Fila here from an owner whom had an Intervention done and was whisked off to rehab. I had to extract those dogs from their home and they stayed with me for a month. I fwd the email to a friend of mine whom was back from Brazil whre they reside staying at their home in Colorado in hopes she might know of someone whom could help. This is how I know it was in August and of course the emails from the owner to rescue groups confirms this.

I ignored these emails and did not put myself out there and the OPs k9 people (always respectful) did not mention me. The owner eventually found me and I agreed to take on the dog due to the circumstances. I had just placed the three fila, and I requested they neuter the Fila. It was over a month before I was able to take Leroy and they drove him here to me.

In the interim I took in two Cane Corso from local shelter due to be euthanized, but I had agreed to take the Fila prior to their arrival and I stuck to my word.

Leroy arrived here on October 8. I know this as it is my brothers bday mine was just a few days before that. So you all do the math, the owner was actively seeking help from the rescue community back in early august, I didnt get him until Oct 8.

The broker had plenty of time to act and step up. She just chose not to, figuring the problem would just go away. Clearly the owners were sincere in seeking a new home and clearly due to the circumstances, the situation warranted placement.

So not only did I not actively seek out these people, I ignored their need to find alternative solutions until they eventually found me. I convinced them to neuter him as that was part of his issue, and it certainly seemed to help as the days went buy and the neuter took effect, he was coming around and being less alpha over the wife. At this point she was afraid of him, and then the hubby had to be deployed out of state for 6wks and that left the wife to deal with a juvenile male just coming down off testosterone and hitting temperament. It just didnt seem like a safe situation for either party.

Nor is it an issue with woman as he has had no problem with me as the alpha leader here, he just knows weakness and he was recently an intact juvenile teenage testosterone moron. Typical behavior when you hit sexual maturity and temp all at once. This stage is why I get soooo many of my rescues as juvenile intact males.

So just wanted to clear that up, too little too late is not my problem. Shouldve stepped up a long time ago, particularly since they were made aware of it first as the person the dog was purchased from. $1200 for what she describes as genetic mightmares with all sorts of health issues suggests these dogs were sold at a show price and had the papers ever made it into her hands she probably wouldve handed em over to allow anyone with one of these horrid examples of the breed, to do just that.

All I know is someone needed to step up. The owners did a wonderful job with this dog, he is healthy as a horse, well balanced and structurally sound adn athletic as hell. They socialized the hell out of him while they could and it shows. His obedience is great for his age, he is still a puppy at heart, and he is just a great great dog whom has never been mistreated nor had a hand raised against him.

You do the math.....peace out!

Jaime can be contacted for the Fila or Corso
have a mother/son adult pair of Cane Corso. They are black brindle w/red. Nala is approx 4yrs old, spayed, ears and tail done. She is approx 70 lbs. She is the sweetest lil ball of mush, seems to like kids, happy to meet anyone whom wants to pet her, she is housebroken, non destructive, and only barks when there is something to alert too. She loves to play in the water and dance in the rain. They are turned out in a yard with a four foot courtyard wall and have made no attempts to escape. Quiet and respectful when crated or when outside. I just leave them loose in their own room now and they behave and do not destroy things.

Drago is Nala's son. Shelter paperwork showed his birthdate in 2004 but 99% positive that was a typo. He is long legged and narrow of body, suggesting he is still in his juvenile stage. 18 months or so of age. He weighs approx 100lbs but is still on the thin side after being in shelter and being exposed to kennel cough, he has an ear infection and is currently being treated for that. He is fully recovered from kennel cough and I put him on a 10 day treatment of antibiotics for tick fever just in case he contracted it from the ticks they were exposed to while at the shelter.

Nala and Drago need to be placed together, seperating them is a stressful and heartbreaking site to see and hear. They share each others food and toys with no conflicts.

They will need to be the only dogs and no cats, critters, or unsupervised access to livestock or poultry n water fowl. Cane Corse have lots of prey drive, are protective of their home and territory and serious about keeping their family safe from harm.

Nala and Drago would be a wonderful addition to the right family.

An application will be utilized to provide information vital to determining if your lifestyle fits their needs. A homecheck is also required.

These dogs were pulled from a local shelter by an official 501c3 non profit rescue organization. If you recognize these dogs or are the owner of these dogs and have any information regarding their past please feel free to contact me. Any info that helps get them into the right forever home with the least amount of stress is most welcome.

Very true, the problem is the fence. We are still missing 5 acres of fence on the left side of our property. I would have to put two dogs on tie outs until we get new fence.

How old is he?
