Back when Rascal was an only ferret, Allie made him a sweater! (last winter?) Anyways, I got some new pics today, because I felt like it. There was no way Renegade was letting me put the sweater on him... the jerk

First, Harley models it

Rascals turn next!

Hey! So for a while I’ve been considering getting a pair of ferrets, and now I’m in a place where I can financially and spatially care for them. I do have some questions though. Any responses would be appreciated:) I have no interest in forcing them in a cage, and I would like to have the free roam as much as they would like.
  1. How much space do they need? I have a dog (who is not kind to cats, so I would never have them interact) who stays downstairs during the day, so would the upstairs be okay to free roam? It has two medium size bedroom, a set of stairs, and a closet.
  2. If they’re free-roaming, how much time will I need to spend with them? I do go to school during the day, so would they be alright roaming around for 6-7 hours as long as they have a pair? I would be with them for the majority of the other time.
  3. If they free roam, do they need a cage? What types are best?
  4. Is raw or kibble better? Also how much (on average) does raw feeding cost per month?
  5. Where should I get my ferrets? I’d be more interested in getting them from an ethical breeder or a rescue.
  6. How do they do with gerbils? I’m pretty sure ferrets are prey animals so I wouldn’t have them interact, but would they be fine with a gerbil tank in their room?
Thank you so much!
