That exonerates Johnson, only. Are you denying the store clerk being manhandled by a person the same size, wearing the same outfit as Brown, within minutes of Wilson rolling up on the two? I am not saying Brown deserved to be killed for this, but I do say it goes to his mental state at seeing a police officer suddenly appear.

I just don't want a rush to judgement on either side. I want a full investigation, with as much factual evidence presented as possible. I don't want that officer railroaded to appease a segment of the population threatening violence if they don't get their way. I don't want the officer exonerated, just because he's a cop (the thin blue line). I would like to see those elected officials/politicians publicly censured for threatening more violence if they don't agree with the grand jury's decision.
If people are looking for EVIDENCE, then no, we have no evidence that any crime was committed. There is no report of a crime. The person who was with Michael is not being considered complicit in a crime.

Wow, that's amazing... The video means nothing? No crime was committed because the store owner was afraid to report it? Okay, so by your standards, if I walked into your home, stole your valuables and intimidated any witnesses so there was no report, NO crime committed? Got it.

There is no report because people are scared to ****.

I mean really? Since when does the media report anything true anyway?

Yes, remember when Zimmerman went to jail just because people wanted to appease a certain segment of the population who threaten World War 3 if that didn't happen! Imagine if he was acquitted, we would have had a complete disaster on our hands!
Guess it depends on your definition of disaster. I'm sure the victims thought it was a complete disaster since their only crime was being white, but go ahead, mock them, too.

Missouri State Senator Jamilah Nasheed is the one who threatened violence if Wilson isn't found guilty, which I would find appalling from any elected official. I guess she doesn't represent or care about the shopkeepers whose stores were looted and destroyed in her district. I guess you don't care either...

Compared to what was thought that would have occurred if Zimmerman was acquitted, which was a wide spread violence from that segment of the community who would riot in the streets and create havoc, yes that is very small. Not to dismiss what happen as it should not have happen, but those are individuals causing havoc, not the African American community. Some(very small percentage) took to the streets to protest after the verdict, but most did. nothing. at. all.

Point is, when has public opinion ever decided the verdict? Zimmerman would have been sent to jail if people were afraid of that segment of the population. So would Casey Anthony with the amount of hate against her by everybody. Darren will get his chance to prove his innocence and Michael's family will get the chance for justice for their son.

NO, the point is, AN ELECTED OFFICIAL is calling for a violent outburst if the verdict isn't what she thinks it should be. THAT IS NOT HER JOB and NO ONE IS CALLING HER OUT ON IT. I find that appalling. Evidently you don't.

I think you might be reading her comment differently than it was intended.

If I tell you "if you jump off that cliff, you're going to bust your face and get hurt," I'm not threatening you. I'm giving you a warning of what will come to pass.

There's also leaving out the latter part of her statement: "...because the black community will never accept that there was an impartial investigation from your office." Also forgetting the context in which she was speaking, which was to ask for a special prosecutor to be appointed rather than a prosecutor who she believed - and those who signed her petition believed - already lacked trust within the community.

Jamilah was out with protestors the night the riots and looting occurred and was urging them to remain peaceful, telling them "remember, our fight will be in the courts." The night after the riots she tweeted about how sad she was over what happened and said "Self-destructive behavior is a major setback for progress."
This does not sound to me like someone who would then incite violence.

I don't think she's saying what you think she is saying.

Um, where in any of my post am I defending ANYONE who calls for violence. I want a fair trial to occur. I want all the facts of the case out before I make a stand on whether or not he is guilty.

I interpret it like you're saying. I don't think it was meant to be a threat as much as warning people that this is a touchy situation.

On the topic of the prosecutor, isn't that an elected position?

Yep. It is. He likely shouldve been voted out long ago but (I include myself in this) we in general have been lazy about researching other options during elections.

I didnt even realize he was the same prosecutor in charge when I had a friend shot by the cops 15 years ago. Now, this friend my family had lost contact with and had been on a pretty rough road at the time. I remember though being shocked that he was accused of threatening the police first but he was drunk at the time so there was no case and no trial ever. And honestly, at the time I was still sure the police would only shoot for very valid reasons. I have changed my mind in the years since.
