Ok, Dogs get fed once a day.
Jake - 68 lb lab/bc mix gets three cups 3 years old
Zoie - 65 lb lab/pit mix gets two cupls (she is trying to loose a few pounds) 2 years old
Maddie - 50lb 10 months old - was giving two cups but she ate them so fast and then would try and sneak Jake and Zoie's food. So, now giving her three.

I am wondering if I am underfeeding them - or overfeeding them - espeically Maddie. I don't follow what their food bags say (feed more food buy more bags). Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts please let me know.

Thanks

Type of food, and please no flaming, is Nutro Natural...Jake and Zoe are on large breed adult. Maddie, prior to us getting her was on Purina puppy chow. I changed he over to Nutro Natural Puppy Large breed.
They go on 1 hour walk a day, Jake does flyball, they all walk the canyon and swim each weekend. During the day, they are mostly asleep.
Thanks for replying too!

Cups are a volume measurement and really irrelevant. How many calories does each dog get per day, and what are their activity levels?

How do you measure activity level? Can you please give me an example?
I will have to look at the bag of food to see the calories.

Well, for example a dog who is taken for a 3 mile walk twice a day (or agility training class, bike rides, swimming etc.) is going to have a different energy requirement than one who just goes walking around the block for 5 minutes three times a day.

One who mostly sleeps when at home is going to have a different energy requirement than one who is "bouncing off the walls" for most of the day, running around, playing with toys and so on.
