So, Logan's breeder would like for me and Logan to come out in Januarsy for a cluster of dog shows. I'm DYING to get out there, and we'd both really, REALLY like Logan to finish his AKC Ch, and it's just not feasible for his breed around here with the low number of shows I can get to each year. I've been trying to go back ever since I left with Logan 3 1/2 years ago...I never wanted to come home to begin with lol. Unfortunately, neither of us can afford the flight right now.

I've seen a million fundraisers for a million things lately, and it got me thinking...have any of you ever tried to fund a show trip through crowdsourcing or some other form of sponsorship? Did it work?

If I did try this, do you have any suggestions? Lodging is free, Logan is free to fly since he's my service dog. The flight is $250-$300 (which is WAY cheaper than I expected), and his breeder said she might be able to help with entry fees.

Input?

How about making some sort of small items, or drawing something up easy and quickly for people, and getting donations that way? I've seen your drawings, and I'd totally be willing for you to whip something up really quickly of any of my crew for something like a 5 to 10 dollar donation. I wouldn't even ask for a physical product because mailing things out costs money, and spending is totally the opposite of saving money :p

And if I can I will definitely be willing to donate more than that, just because. Chaz is awesome, and I always always try to help when I can.

Hmmm, you might be on to something! It's been...2 years? since I actually sat down and drew, but before that it had been 5ish years since I drew. And I'm asking for a pen set for Christmas lol :p I'd have to see if I can get high-quality photos or scans if I wasn't going to send out the physical drawing, though. I'm crap at digital drawings.

I can also churn out leashes like nobody's business lol, those are cheap and easy to make. If I can sit down with the sewing machine on an afternoon or two and pre-make some in common lengths.

I wonder if there's another weekend later that would be a good show weekend for Logan? It seems like they're always having some sort of collie specialty lol. But buying a little time would help...maybe February or March, though flight prices skyrocket in March due to spring break. January and February are super cheap.
