What do you eat/make/buy in the colder months that warm up your tummy?

I am a lover of hot chocolate and heavier soups. Leek and potato soup being a personal favorite. I just made a huge pot of it.

I'm a fan of soups (I like broccoli cheddar..but I do not make such things from scratch...my soup skills are lacking). Beverage wise I like hot tea. In fact, if I'm cold I head for the tea first

Lasagna.

That's all for now, but I do have more.

Im not a fan of hot beverages! Ill only drink iced coffee and ice tea.

I LOVE peppermint flavors during the winter. I made homemade peppermint bark the other day, mmmm. And fudge, and peppermint brownies, and candy canes and even a peppermint coffee creamer I put with my iced coffee.

Chili is a year round food so...I guess that. Apple cider is always delicious as well. And then there's the old staple of hot chocolate + marshmallows. Just not the same without the mallows.

Paige, would you like to share your recipe for potato and leek soup? :D I was wanting to make that soon and haven't found a recipe yet.

I love homemade breads in the fall and winter: pumpkin, gingerbread, zucchini bread.. and of course homemade cookies..and pumpkin pie. Mmm!

home made chilli

homemade chicken noodle soup.

I love eating them but even more than that I just LOVE having a house filled with the aroma of chili or chicken noodle soup cooking on a cold day... if there is snow on the ground it's even better. I don't know what it is about that but it makes me feel so happy.

I don't know if this counts but when the weather gets cold they come out with these special holiday coffee creamers. I look forward to it every year lol. Gingerbread is my absolute favorite but they have a new one Caramel apple that is delicious too.

Hamburger soup, roasts, cream soups like potato, cheese/broccoli, most things you bake in the oven because I normally refrain from that during the hotter months........even with air conditioning, old habits die hard, LOL

Gingerbread anything... Hamburger soup, pumpkin anything, peppermint anything, hot cocoa, and plenty of other things.
(((((((((TIGHT SQUEEZING HUGS))))))))))) I love, love, LOVE hamburger soup! It's hard to find fellow HS lovers, I knew you were cool Izzy, I just didn't know HOW cool! :D

Kevin never had it in his life before he met me, and I can't make a believer of him, LOL, he prefers his beef chunks and barley.

I make it like my Grams, hamburger, beef broth, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, cabbage, all sorts of other veggies.......pretty much veggie soup but with hamburger. How do you make/eat yours? My Grams always called it 'poor folk stew' but I always loved it better than any other soup in the world!

Hamburger soup is definitely different where I'm from. Yours sounds delicious though! Ours (because Justin had it growing up too which surprised me, I thought I was like the only one!) is Burger, beef broth, celery, peas, carrots, potatoes, onions and then dumplings on top which make the soup nice and rich and hearty.

Oh, and I love Chili... a lot!

I didn't know anyone else made hamburger soup.. I guess I thought it was something my Grandma created - haha I'm so naive.

The recipe I use has similar ingredients (carrots, celery, potatoes, cabbage) plus egg noodles and plus a can of diced or stewed tomatoes. I also top it with grated cheddar cheese therefore actually making it "cheeseburger soup." :)

Beef stew, and I love soup. Cream of broccoli, cream of potato, cream of cauliflower, anything like that.

Hot chocolate is of course great in the winter :) And although it's not warm, eggnog for sure. I go through a TON of eggnog - I wish they sold it year round ):
