Favorite brand & type of ice cream

I'm a huge sucker for ice cream. As I sit here eating a bowl of it, I wondered what everyone's favorite brand & type/"flavor" of ice cream is?

I love Tillamook Chocolate Peanut Butter. Those peanut butter chunks are to die for, and I have yet to find a cheaper brand that has the peanut butter chunks like this one does.

Ben & Jerry's Half Baked & Chunky Monkey. If I could afford it, I would eat a pint a day.

Oh my gosh. Tillamook anything. Tillamook Mudslide is my absolute weakness, but Udderly Chocolate and Marionberry Pie are killer too.

When I was pregnant I made Strider walk 3 miles roundtrip to the store with me at 2am during a blizzard to get a container of Udderly Chocolate I was craving it so bad (shared the white chocolate patches with him so it was all good lol).

Tofts from the actual creamery here in sandusky and not out of a box. Love their peanut butter cup flurry but any of their ice cream is amazing!

Talenti Gelato and Cold Stone Creamery stuff here. I don't know Tillamook...

But I'm trying to stick to the Edy's slow churned stuff to save on calories...

Homestead Creamery. Best thing ever. I think you can only get it in Southwest VA and the surrounding areas, but I might be wrong. It's pretty darn amazing.

I like the orange pineapple flavor the best, but I haven't had any bad ice cream from them. Kroger sells their stuff all around the area, but their home base is near Smith Mountain Lake I think.

It's a really rich, fatty, creamy, elastic kind of ice cream (kind of like cold stone, but better). It's about the opposite of Breyers ice cream (which is much more "icy" and much less "creamy."

Maybe once a year I want icecream. And then I want the fresh stuff made at Kawartha Dairy that we can get right from where its made on the way up to the cottage (or on the way home)

National brands? I like Bryers and Edy's. There are a couple of local brands that I enjoy. I really like going to the local dairy's where they either make it there or have their own production facility.

My wife works at a local dairy in their "Dairy Bar" as a cook, waitress, cashier, etc. Someone was giving her a hard time about how it's a sham and the ice cream is shipped in, so she opened the door in the back of the bar to reveal the owner sitting at the ice cream machines filling the tubs. Now that's fresh.

As for flavors, cookies and cream is always good, coffee and mint chocolate chip. Baskin Robins has a "Baseball Nut" one that's Vanilla, raspberry and cashews that I really like.

Ben and Jerry's Caramel Sutra is my favorite at the moment *yumm* Or the caramel cone ice cream from haagen daz. *drool*

It's kind of funny. Eddy's Ice Cream is actually called Dreyer's Ice Cream here. I like their ice cream OK, but I hate that they don't put any safety seals on it so I refuse to buy it.

I'm in Vermont, so Ben and Jerry's is pretty much a given. I'm a half hour from the factory, and probably 10 minutes from where it first was sold. Although sadly they don't have the factory seconds all over the place anymore, so it's more expensive than it used to be to indulge (nothing like the good old days of getting a half-priced pint and finding out it is discounted because there are way too many Heath Bar chunks in it).

My favorite is the Candy Bar Pie, which is very hard to find in the pints. In a pinch, S'mores, Half Baked, Peanut Butter Cup, or Coffee Heath Bar will do nearly as well. Or Cinnamon Buns. Or Mint Chocolate Cookie...really, I'm not picky.

That peppermint ice cream they come out with every Christmas, but my regular fave is cookies and cream.

I really like Ben and Jerry's raspberry jam core (I forget the actual name here) and cherry Garcia. Half baked is good but a bit rich.

Blue Bell mint chocolate chip is a classic. I love their chocolate covered cherry too. Blue bell spiced pumpkin pecan may be my absolute favorite. I also like their peppermint. And pecans pralines and crème. Mexican Praline is also good.

Braum's has good peppermint, apple pie, and pumpkin. The pumpkin one made into a shake is to die for.

Most my favorites are seasonal, sadly.

Yeah. On a very rare occasion, I'll have some, but usually? No. I won't want any. The only ice cream I remotely like is Birthday Cake, I think it's by Blue Moon.

Usually it is a orange sherbert , or maybe a chocolate with a bunch of stuff mixed in.

Braum's peppermint is really good but sometimes hard to find here. Breyer also makes a really good peppermint, really all of the brands make those seasonable flavors but I think Braum's and Breyers are the best. Also blue bunny makes a good peppermint.

Yesssssss peppermint ice cream. The only reason I'm okay with the pumpkin flavored stuff ending after Halloween is because the peppermint ice cream transitions in.

The rest of the year, I like mint n chip or moose tracks.
