Well I went to a trial about 14 hours away.... but I was kinda also vacationing and visiting Mira's breeders and bringing MacNut home... ;)
How is MacNut?

I'm not currently trialing, but I love roadtrips. I don't care how far I have to drive, gas prices just hold me back :p

The furthest I've gone to date was 13 hours to Purina Farms for our Nationals in 2012. Then in December I will be going to Florida for Invitationals, and that takes like 20 hours or something. I haven't looked it up yet :p

Kimma + flying = no go, so we will be driving. Woooooooo!

Normal trials are only like an hour away so that's awesome. Conformation has been a bit further (2-3 hours) but I've only done that a few times and mostly so that I can hang with Xeph :p

We do 10 hours to Las Vegas and 8 to San Diego 1-2 times a year for flyball stuff.

3(ish) hours one way to flyball tournaments probably another 3-4 times a year.

For agility we've been sticking to trials within 1 hour of our house for the past year. Which we can totally still trial like every weekend in either USDAA or AKC.

But we're doing our first hotel stay for agility - the trial is closer to 2 hours away and so we grabbed a Motel 6 room for Saturday night.

I think we're both open to either flying or multi-day drives for national level competitions. We will see what the next few years bring us.

I'm not trialing much, but the furthest I've gone is about 2.5 hours. Sunday will be almost two hours.

If I have to be somewhere at least that far (2-3+hours) AND the trial starts at an ungodly hour, I am more than happy to get a hotel for the night before. Stuff like rally, usually there are two trials a day, and two days of trials. So it makes sense to go for a whole weekend to try and get some legs done. I'd rather make the drive once and stay in a hotel for the weekend than make the drive twice for one day each, yknow?

The most I've traveled is 14 hrs from Boston to Indianapolis for Flyball. We frequently make 6+ hour trips every couple of months for tournaments.

For Disc trials I won't travel more than 2 hours. Flyall comes first. :D

I wouldn't do that for an outdoor trial, but it is reasonable for me given that the footing/temperature is assured (nice indoor, climate controlled site).
This too! Will travel farther/hotel it for a nice venue. There is a rally venue in Westford MA, it's closer but it's just too small. It's in an old warehouse or garage thing and just not 'nice'. I went up to All Dogs Gym last year and that was super nice, I enjoyed just being on that property and hanging out. The area had lots of shopping and stuff too.

I once drove from PA to South Carolina for a coonhound event. A one day event, for me. I also have gone PA to IL but that was for a weekend. Later this month we'll be going about 7.5 hours for a coonhound event and due to work I'll probably only be able to do one day.

I just went 10 hours to NC for a conformation show. Sadly, if I want to CH him in that registry, I'm going to have to go there more often. There are only a couple of clubs at this point.

I'm new to trialing but so far the farthest I've gone is about 2.5 hours. Going about that far again for a two day barn hunt trial in June and have a hotel for the night between.

Jubel was pretty obnoxious the last time we stayed overnight in a hotel so I'm only likely to do it for two day trials from now on. Suck it up and drive to and from but cap my distance at 3 hours tops. Thankfully living where I do I have a decent number of nosework and barn hunt options with in 3 hours.

Anything up to 4 hours is normal. But if you count Maf's and I's trip to the US, we hit a JRT trial in Pennsylvania and an agility trial in Ohio.

So I don't think you are less than sane for this.
