Eleanor ;) I laughed at Charley when we watched the movie. He groaned, recognizing the sound of that motor overheating . . .

Sunny, I've got an old 1979 Jeep Renegade Levis edition. I promise you I don't abuse it. It's been forever since it's had either a top or doors on it, lol! Of course, Charley's got the steering screwed up so I can't drive it on the road . . . it gives him the willies to think of me driving down the road at 90 mph, passing semis . . . But hey, we all go when it's our time, and I'd much rather go with the wind in my hair and the last words out of my mouth being "Awwww S***!" than some other way.

Oh, and I really need an early 1970s model 911 turbo. And if I can't have an 850 for the matched set with my car, I suppose a 5 speed 928S would do . . . A nice little mid to late 1980s Mercedes 500 SL ragtop would be a nice addition to the stable . . .

And I need any color but red. A red sportscar is such a cliche . . . :p

I had my old Trooper for 15 years and loved it to death, but now my 4 Runner ( 1996 ) is my baby ! BUT.... Tom and I bought a used Jag --1951 XK120 in "53...Wow !! Baby blue convertable with navy interior !!! His father replaced it on his birthday with a brand new Chevy converitable ( '55) ... CRAP!! When our 1st baby was born in '57 we needed a second car so in '58 Tom bought a '52 MG TD for $500.....That 1st baby, our son Michael now had that car in CA !! He completely restored it himself , from ground up except for paint job. Took 4 years but is his pride a joy. Tom was able to drive it again 3 months before he died.

Why do I have a feeling my husband would get along beautifully with you blue ? :D We saw one of these a while back, in a parking lot (don't ask me why it was there, I dunno) and we HAD to stop what we were doing to pull into the parking lot next to it so he could drool. Sigh. boys and their toys  :D
I love the look and versatility of the older Unimogs and these seem to hold true to it, unlike the direction Jeep is going with their models.

I would give much to tear this down to its frame and rebuild it.

See the light drive on the right.

Unless you live in a country that allready drives on the right, then drive on the left.

Most 'luxery' cars are so far out of my price range as to be labeled "pipe dream cars" or "unecessary expense". The BMW 750i is probably about the most expensive car I even think about possibly owning someday...all I really want is my little RAV4 or Highlander for the dogs... :(

I want this car sooo bad. We borrowed it a couple weekends ago and I so know what I'm buying when I get my sign on bonus :D I won't waste my time going after something I'll never be able to afford. My absolute dream car is the one my bfs friend wrecked which was a 96 cobra. It was a limited edition one and there are only so many. I'll get one soeday though! I used to want a jag but after driving one they aren't that great.

But Grammy, you don't seriously think I'm moving slower than anyone else out there do you? Trust me, the redhead in the big black Bimmer is moving much faster than the blond in the red ;) I'm past 80 mph before I'm up the entrance ramp. That's why God made CB radios . . . to keep me from getting thrown under the jail. The truckers know that the redhead with the "Mayhem" vanity tags always travels at three digit speeds ;)

And never, ever follow a blond in a red sports car - it's a good way to end up lost, lol!

LOL!!!! EliNHunter told me when I was over 85 ....of the 2230 miles I drove all but 200. Once, she was asleep , I saw I was at 95 ... whoops !!! Slowed down only because of gas prices ! I don't condone speed... I'm not a lane crosser and travel a safe distant behind ....craps me out when someone cuts into my safe space though !!!

Tell her if she doesn't stop backseat (or passenger seat) driving you will send her somewhere with me, lol!

I would never drive at those speeds in an American or Japanese model though. They aren't designed for it. The German cars are. It's not enough for a car to be able to make speed, you've got to have the right brakes, tires and handling set-up and suspension or it's just a disaster.

Well I LOVE my car and when I bought it it was my dream car - although it's not luxary ... named her Brooke

Here's hubby's car - he wishes it were a Cobra but he wasn't patient enough for them to get in the one he wanted so he bought this one instead...he's modified it to be as fast as a stock cobra...maybe a bit faster but he's still got more to go. It's strictly a weekend/race car.

I love cars too much to have a favorite because there are things about several that would make them my favorite. Right now I'd like to get an SUV though - really need the room. I'll probably wait a few more months until my car's paid off and keep my car and make it a race/show car and use the SUV as a daily driver...4 cars for 2 people...how crazy is that?? Hey, it's a better hobby than others out there I guess!!

How about a '74 Gremlin X (or maybe a Levis) with the 401 big block actually had a Levis of that year. THe '60s Roadmaster Wagons or the Chevy Nomad.
