Looking for some. The small dog turns 11 in two days. I want to to do something fun and special with her. But I am not sure. Wondering if anything has done anything fun and out of the box.

P gets a hike and a swimmy on his birthday if the weather is nice (sometimes in May it is not.) That's what he likes to do so that is what we do!
Auggie's big 1-0 my friends came over and pet him and gave him ice cubes and he got cake. His ideal day really is just all kinds of people loving on him, so that's what he got.

I just try to think of what it is they really like. One year for Auggie's birthday I shut the other dogs out of my bedroom and it was just the two of us for 3 or 4 hours, no pest brothers or sisters. Then I gave him a bully stick all his own to chew alllll by himself.

Pepper I took to the pet store by herself one year so she could pick out.her own toy. Just the two of us, yes. Pet store... No. Sorry Drizzle. Bad planning that year.

I take Brisbane to the In-n-Out drive-through for a cheeseburger for his birthday. One year I threw him a birthday party with dog guests, cake, party hats, and a pinata full of dog biscuits.

I like the idea of picking her own gift. Dekka doesn't like other dogs and little interest in other humans. She likes beds toys and food. And me.

Find some dog friendly activities you can both enjoy?

We have a dog friendly drive-in theater that has dog portioned vanilla ice cream cups. Pet store to pick their own gift than front seat with vanilla ice cream watching a movie at the drive in safely sectioned off from other dogs and people. LOL.

I find for older dogs they may get bored of seeing and visiting the same places. If she is the type that likes exploring things out, then maybe you can take to a some location she hasn't been too that is safe for off leash. I know it isn't too out of the box but it is still an idea that may bring happiness to a dog.

I ended up bringing her to work. Letting her pick out some toys in the dog section here and a huge braided bully stick.

I also ordered her a couple of AMAZING dog beds (for those of you who haven't seen these.. they are very well made) at work

Around here there isn't much that is safe off leash. Too many coyotes in the city and she isn't a dog park candidate in any way shape or form.

How about a trip to the beach or just a nice long walk someplace new (accompanied by a very tasty picnic lunch of course!).
