Snowy does. Not Crystal though.

I was away for few days from home. The day before I returned to my dogs and family, I spoke to my dad who told me that Snowy was looking for me! Goodness, as I heard what monkey was doing, I so wanted to return home by just a second.

So in that day, dad called to check on few info's. During the conversation, he mentioned what monkey did. Apparently, he was spending the other Sunday early morning with the dogs in the garden around the plants close to where our cars are parked. I don't know what was dad thinking. Maybe testing Snowy's "words-Pup-ictionary" or something. But he went calling out for me. went something like: "Where is Katkoota?...where is she? Katkoota...Katkoota...where are you". Dad said that Snowy went straight to my car, stood on his hind legs , trying to look up, then waited there for 5 to 10 minutes waiting by my car door. Melted my heart.

When I returned to them, I was able to kiss both of the pups BIG<3

I love both my malts. I don't know if other pups can recognise their (I mean your) cars, but both Snowy & Crystal can. They reconise my car...or I should say, "their" car? They love car rides and when they know that we are up for a ride, they walk in a dancing / jumping walk towards my car. Crystal is the cutest in her dance move coz she does it in a very girly, ballerina sort of way. That is one fact about two of my pups.

I also know that Snowy recognises the word "Katkoota". He hears it all the time. When I am with them, playing fetch or so for example, and they hear that, Snowy just knows that I am being called by one of the family members. I don't think he loves it when he hears that becauseit always means that we are taking a break from playing tennis ball LOL

Now with the most recent "waiting in front of my car door", expecting me to show up is just .... Snowy

I guess. I don't know, there is something in this monkey that boosts his acts and characteristics. Sometimes, I think that I could just eat the cuteness of acts up!!!!!

He is just so much. His fluffy looks can easily fool a human, until they get to live with him and they change their minds and call him monkey instead :lol-sign:

I don't think mine do. They don't seem to, anyway. But come to think of it, I don't think my family tosses eachother's names around very much in conversation. Likely not enough for the dogs to pick up on. I'm sure I could teach them to "go find ___", but without doing that, it'd be hard for them to associate any of us by name.

LOL I know it's weird but the dogs know my husband as "daddy". I always tell Hannah that "Daddy will be home soon" or "Daddy is on his way home" well the dogs have figured this out LOL. I can NOT use the words daddy and home in the same sentence or they will go bonkers lol

I really did not expect Snowy to pick the name.

I think that with Crystal, teaching her the name is the way to go with it because from what I am noticing, she needs more calling "katkoota" time than snowy. Ir maybe, calling the name during something that she is obsessed with. She loves tennis balls, but not as crazily as Snowy.

We actually did not intend to have the malts learn that, but Snowy picked it quickly during fetch game. He is obsessed with tennis ball fetch game. He is so focused at playing so the word "Katkoota" interrupts this game as I respond to it and make a break on the game lol

Sheena and Luna do. When I say Daddy is home they both run to the door. I can also tell them to go get daddy or go to daddy or bring it ot daddy. To them I am known as mommy. They also know the cats names. The birds though are known as the birds.

My Labrador retriever knew my name but not my super brilliant German Shepherd. I think it had more to do with the girlfriends I had than the dogs. The girlfriend I had when I had the lab spent more time with me and used my name more. She also was a dog trainer and I think that made a difference.

Yep they know my name. They also know my granny and if they hear me talking about going to visit it her they go wild because they know one of them usually gets to go with. Fudge is going to sulk on Christmas day since Aura has "stolen" it from him and she'll be visiting instead of him.
