Henry I trust with most anyone. My dog savvy friends can handle him with ease. He's also very comfortable staying with my parents when we go out of town.

Rhys is a different story. He's DA, strong, and is generally a lot of dog to handle. He's well behaved for my husband and I, but I really don't trust him with anyone other than real dog people. He went with us when we traveled out of town for my father in law's funeral. Yeah, he was crated most of the time, but he was under my care.

If we ever do any serious traveling I would rather leave him with his breeder than anyone else. I trust her and I think he would actually enjoy it.

I've been told I'm too trusting with him, but he's a pretty easy dog.
He has been taken overnight by friends, family, and various strangers on rover/pet sitting services.

As long as it's
A) Somebody I trust OR
B) A trusted service provider (like Rover or other insured pet sitting services)
and
C) Hopefully somebody with a yard (I hate the idea of forcing people to walk him/deal with his energy that way...)
D) has no dogs or dogs that Merlin gets along with or are the same size or bigger than him

Then I'm A OK

There are 3 people I trust with him, but 2 of them I can't leave him with due to there dogs.
Stepdaughter 1 would be fine with him, but has her own EM and Saint, add in Mouse and his playfulness and the 3 of them rough housing means there likely to break the house somehow.

Stepdaughter 2 has two Dogue de Bordeaux, again add Mouse and something is getting broken.

3rd my friend who has watched Mouse a couple times has 2 smaller dogs that he seems to adjust his play with and does well.

My biggest problem is Mouse only listens to me or the wife, if we tell him something he listens perfect, if someone else give him a command he looks at them like who the heck do you think you are. He won't even take a high value treat from anyone else.

I've been in and out of the hospital the past two years, so I've learned to let go my stranglehold and trust other people with my dogs. I'm lucky to be surrounded by dog-savvy friends, and Hambone and Bean at least fit seamlessly into other peoples' packs.

And I am trying to learn to trust my fiance. But he's dog dumb sometimes and it can be hard.

No there isn't. If my parents go out of town or whatever for the day or night I stay here with the dogs and cats. I haven't been out of town for a long time and that's fine I enjoy staying here any way. The only time the dogs are left for a few hours if we go swimming in another town at a resort or out to dinner or shopping. Otherwise I just watch them and I wouldn't have it any other way. I don't want anything happening to our animals.

Plus, Buster would have been a hard dog for someone to watch since he was pretty shy with newcomers and protective. He wouldn't hurt anyone but I wouldn't have trusted anyone to watch him. Dixie & Rudy wouldn't eat for someone if we were gone. They would be fine going outside I guess but they surely wouldn't eat.

My boyfriend watches my dog, but it took almost two years for me to really trust him with her. I would trust his aunt with her too.

I was very trusting at first wth Crossbone -- but my parents kept him the first year for 10 days and he came back with some behavior issues. Crossbone is so soft and so inpressionable - just one bad experience can traumatize him and I no longer feel comfortable leaving him with just anybody. Heck, I'm still worried when Ken takes him for a walk on his own and I'm going to be freaking out when he starts taking him to agility classes in a few weeks without me (every other week class is at a time where I can't go, but he can).

I would NEVER kennel Crossbone. I think he'd freak. Jack would also never be kenneled, he has claustrophobic issues.

We do have now friend who can stay at our house with the dogs if we're going to be gone for an extended amount of time. I'm becoming more comfortable with the idea and I like them staying in the house, but it still makes me nervous.

It depends on who, but generally no. The last time I left a dog of mine in the care of someone for a night, they were beaten to death with a shovel in a drunken rage. My mother is the only person I trust my dogs with now.

I used to be very easy going about who could look after our dogs, now i'm slightly more picky. Last time we went away my uncle was supposed to look after our dogs and they wouldn't let him into the house, that has put me off it a bit.

If every member of my family was going away, I think I would have to seperate the dogs up to make it easier. Either Scamp or Diesel would have to go else where because I don't trust anybody else to be as careful as I am and Diesel will try to kill Scamp if he gets the chance. Diesel is also the worst for guarding the house. I don't know if I would trust him in a kennel either. Ideally he would stay in a kennel, at our house with somebody just putting food in everyday. I think that would be the least stressful for him and us.

Everyone else would be fine and have been fine before with someone coming 4x a day, letting them out and feeding them. The only problem is that our yard is unfenced. My dogs wouldn't go anywhere but the neighbours GSD's are quite aggressive and charge at my dogs every time they're let out. My dogs ignore them but only with me. My sister can't let the dogs outside if the GSDs are out otherwise there will be a fight. Apart from that I don't think anyone would have a problem with my lot. Aura and Tika are the only ones left loose now anyway and they make a lot of noise at the door and then once you come in the door they're fine.

I have a total freak dog who doesn't travel and since we travel to compete...

He has 2 people he adores. Currently, one of them just stays at our house since she is in a shared housing situation. She's not super dog savvy but she totally follows rules and believes me when I say things like that they need to be in different rooms for food time and to toss one of them in the bathroom before you open the front door.

One of my dog's is a dick but he also has a special friend and since he's a small dog and gets along with other dogs, it's easy enough to just take him over to their house.

I trust my teammates with the Malinois and the BS but since they are our young competition dogs - they usually come with us.

Most of my family members I know I can trust to watch my dogs, same with some close friends. Though, really, I just take my dogs everywhere so it's usually a non-issue.

Yes. My dogs are easy. They don't have any special requirements and other than extreme excitement when you first walk in the door... they are very easy dogs.

We have a neighbor girl watch them. she's 15 and she's been watching them for almost 2 years. Her parents are right across the street so if anything happened it's not like there isn't an adult around to help. She's VERY reliable. She babysits for us as well. She's smart, responsible and trustworthy and she's great about helping us out last minute.
