"I'll rip your jaw open next time you even think about that!" - Katalin stole a wool wrap from my chair

"AIYA! I'm sending you to live with Michael Vick!" - Katalin marked my bed

"Oh ngoh deng nei gei fai ah sey deen gau" (F*ck you, crazy dog) - Katalin dug up fake moss in a fake tree pot in the hallway

All just from today - we have a very loving and tender communication style as you can so obviously see.

Uhhh all the time :p Every time Lucy barks at ridiculous things, I tell her I'm going to rip her vocal cords out.

Or they both get told, for various reasons, to "knock it the eff off or I'll punch you in the face." Would sound absolutely horrible to anyone listening, but rest assured I have never punched either of them.

I call Tango Satan Dog a lot lately. He's decided the front desk may only be graced by staff and a select few students that he adores. However, when he decides to vocalize his hate for new people, he gets crated asap. I get a lot of "Aww can I pet your cute doggy?" to which I have to say "Sorry, he's actually Satan and has to take a nap now."

Izzy used to get called boob a lot as a puppy and when they've made a mess in the house they both get called "Sh*tty dog" I don't swear at them a lot but I do have a lot of "pet" names like Psycho, Crackhead, Idiot Dog, Satan etc

Mostly stuff like "Knock it the f off!" or "Shut the f up!" If they ignore me "What the f did I just say" (and then they do the prior command)
Maddie gets "*insert command* now or I will cut you"
They both get "Get in the mutha f'n car" too. If they are being annoying it "The f do you want?!"

I have the mouth of a sailor. Its sort of a problem :p

I curse at Zander a lot. I have a pretty bad mouth regardless, but around my friends, and Zander is definitely a friend at the very least, I tend not to pay as much attention to it. So I swear more. Just words. And they help me get my point across. :p

As far as threaten...yeah, I do a lot of that too.

"If you do not...."
"I swear..."
"HEY. Are you listening to me?"
So on so forth.
Insert colorful, creative, imaginative threat here.

Every day. Several times a day!

Katy hates getting her collar put on for a walk. She loves the walk, but not getting the collar on. So I say to her, 'If you don't get your collar on, you don't get a walk'. And you know, a few times I have carried out my threat, and she don't get a walk. She really hates that :lol-sign: but she is learning.

I also threaten to put her in the bin a lot (we have industrial bins, so she would fit :p).

Todd and Lucy never get threats really, but then, they are well behaved!

Sienna doesn't usually do anything that requires threatening. But when my cat is being bratty, I tell her I'm going to turn her into a hat :) So now my boyfriend tells her she's "soft like a hat." LOL. Doesn't make her stop being bratty, though.

Actually, I do threaten Sienna now that I think about it. I tell her she can't come with me and I'm going to leave her at home...no puppies allowed, etc. Of course I only do this when I am actually going to take her along. I'm not THAT cruel.

I tell Kailey I'll eat her ears if she doesn't behave.
She has the softest ears in the world. I nom on them all the time.

That's about as violent as it gets, though. lol

Eve is this way, except after threatening her with beatings and Tony or I actually start thumping on her (not gently, either) she gets super excited and does zoomies.

Then we always joke that we need to beat her harder.

I tell Ollie I will tie her to a tree in the back yard (like a lot of people do around here)...Like she would last 2 minutes chained to a tree :p..... Ollie will shake and shiver if I yell at her...so I have to be more *stern* and show her I am annoyed with her behavior if I want to get anything done.

I also threaten that I will kabob Shakespeare when he is being bad.

Very interesting and funny thread, I love the threats. In reality though we should never threaten the dog as it is a gray area. Dogs like clear communication so praise/reward they understand, a correction they understand (if taught properly), threats they might ignore or not understand so they are of no benefit really. My motto is either reward or correct as needed and make both of them count.
