I can't say since we have only had Males, but the females I have met are very nice to. I just think boys like bonding more than girls.

When breeding and reserving pups to come...a lot of 1st Golden owners would put down female... if they were all spoken for they would usually take a male and would request a male from then on through the years.

A little bit of both is my preference. :p

I have the most experience with girls, but do have some experience with training males. I find the males to be much more clumsy with both their body parts and their brains. They are more needy of attention, and most males I have met try to demand that attention by shoving their head or body into your hands when you are busy! I have also found males hold on to their playful puppy side much longer than females.

Male dogs just seem to be kind of like male humans...clumsy, and brainless at times. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against that (well, at least not in dogs LOL), but I just love the (please excuse my language) b!tchiness in females. LOL It feels weird to say that. My girls are absolute sweethearts...but you do not want to push them too hard, because they'll turn into little devils.

I have one of each and love them both the same. Boomer does seem to be more of a velcro dog but is so stubborn when he has his mind set on something and if we're outside the fenced in area he gets easily distracted and will wonder away (reason why I can't trust him off leash ever). Kassie is a bit more independent but if we wonder outside the fenced in area she doesn't like to venture to far away from me. They are both neutered/spayed.

I'm partial to the males. They seem to have more spunk which I really like. With Sibes I've noticed a lot of times the males are the ones flipping out and lunging against their harnesses while the females have the attitude of "I'm too good for THIS" (though they both enjoy the sport equally and equally do well in it).

I've got one of each right now, but the breeds themselves (Aussie vs. RottieX) are so different that I'm not sure what's specific to sex and what is breed personality. My male is definitely more needy while my female is much more independent, but loves to cuddle on her own terms. My other female (DobeX) was the same...cuddly when she wanted to be, but did her own thing most of the time.

I really don't notice a difference if they are neutered/spayed at an early age. I haven't noticed a difference in housebreaking times or anything like that. I do however notice that my girl was always more demanding of things. The boys were happy to get a treat, the girl asked for one.

It doesn't matter to me. I read some place that neutered male dogs make the best pets, though. I have met several dogs of each gender that I simply adored. It has more to do with the individual personality and temperament of the dog.

Boy dogs can be nasty if they aren't fixed. They will hike their leg everywhere in the house and will hump things.

Girl dogs have messy heats, though. It's a good thing spaying and neutering helps fix these problems. :)

I used to think that I preferred females, but I've recently had two male dogs and they've been great to. I just think it depends on the dog and what you want. It's just like kids!:)

I have three females and two males. The females are definately more independent than the males. I just love my two males, but they are both labs and the females are mixes. Then our latest little female is a treasure, but she is a lab also. I guess I love them all for different reasons, but my two big 100# males are real joys.

I have a male and a female dog. I like each one just as much as the other.

I find that (in my personal experience) male dogs are more independent and are less cautious as to how they go about things, and are more demanding. Females can be more timid sometimes.
